Casa de Flora Bar | 75 Washington Street, Bloomfield

This isn’t just a brunch spot — it’s an experience. A visit to Casa de Flora often starts for some coffee, but you’ll want to stay for the tasty treats, selfie studio experience, and opportunity to build your own flower bouquet.

Cedar Beans | 575 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove

The name of the game at this local haunt is craftsmanship. The folks at Cedar Beans take their craft seriously and deliver some of the most delicious coffees and teas around, and have a ton of pastries and grab-and-go breakfast options. The frequent live music performances add a cozy layer to the vibes here.

Colias Cafe | 391 Broad Street, Bloomfield

This narrow, little cafe on Broad Street is a must-visit for anyone in the Montclair area. In addition to delicious pastries and a variety of products from local vendors, this spot has some of the best vibes around. This is the space you want to bring friends to for a long catch-up at one of the small bar tables, the cozy seating area in the front, or their outdoor tables during the warmer months. We love the fantastic coffee and welcoming vibes.

The Compound Coffee Co. | 271 Grove Avenue, Suite C, Verona

We all love quality coffee and light bites, but what this place gets right is the community. It’s part coffee shop, part fitness studio, and feels like hanging out at your best friend’s house. Patrons can work out in a group fitness class or take advantage of personal training, with a side of camaraderie and coffee.

The Corner | 115 Grove Street, on corner of Walnut Street, Montclair

This perpetual MG favorite serves customers with coffee, pastries, fresh-pressed juices, and some of the best breakfast and lunch bites around. Weekends are typically quite busy, but pop in throughout the week for a solo date or bring a friend and sample a few of the outstanding dishes together.

Ladyfingers Bakery and Bar | 1109 Broad Street, Bloomfield

This underrated spot is a dream for anyone who loves a sweet treat. Walking into Ladyfingers feels like stepping into Candyland because of the bright colors, adorable decor, and pastry case filled with delectable goodies. The menu has savory brunch and lunch dishes, so there’s truly something for everyone at this spot. Mercado | 605 Valley Road, Montclair

This fast-casual spot serves some fantastic dishes to pair with their coffee. Hunker down with a laptop and get yourself some WFH fuel, or relax with some friends over these filling dishes. They also deliver if you need to bring the good vibes to your doorstep.

MG Tip: The online menu makes it easier for folks with allergens to spot what is or is not safe for their dietary restrictions. Eating without stress is the best way to eat!

Paper Plane Coffee Co. | 61 N Fullerton Avenue, Montclair

We would be remiss if we didn’t include this Montclair staple. This coffee spot, open daily, has saved the lives of more Montclair State students and townspeople than we can count. Pop in to try their seasonal drinks, or pick a tried and true favorite to enjoy. The coffee beans are available for purchase so you can be your own barista at home at any hour of the day.

The Saucy Cup | 48 Mountainview Boulevard, Wayne

This spot is all kinds of adventure, packed into one location, and it’s all worth it. The Saucy Cup is a viral hit on the internet, and for good reason. The food and coffee are incredible, plus the ‘create your own pasta’ menu option is always a winner. This small spot has limited seating, which is why we like the walk-up window and outdoor seating. The adventure comes in the aforementioned seating, and an equally limited parking lot. Patrons’ patience is rewarded in the form of The Saucy Cup’s hearty bites and strong brews.

Sugar Tree Cafe | 358 Passaic Avenue, Nutley
