About The Corner

After opening in  April of 2015, The Corner outfitted itself to be a mix of “urban eclectic sensibilities,” all while reflecting Montclair’s suburban charm, according to the website. Owner Jeff Munoz is a long-time Montclair resident, he named the cafe The Corner as the building sits on the corner of Grove Street and Walnut Street.

“We took over this ‘corner’ space with a vision of a part cafe and part restaurant, combining a downtown feel with a casual nature of a neighborhood eatery,” according to signage in the cafe.

Designed by interior designer Nicole Roantree, The Corner combines the industrial feel of the city with the comfort of the suburbs. A neon sign reading “good vibes only” and colorful art prints decorate the walls.

The open concept kitchen and tables with rustic wood table tops and industrial table legs round out the look of the cafe. The large front windows and glass doors of the cafe allow for sunlight to naturally light the interior and make for the perfect spot for watching the regular hustle and bustle of Montclair to pass you by.

The Corner also offers house-made sodas and juices if you are craving something sweet. The sodas are all infused with fresh fruit and herbs and come in three flavors: Lemon Press, Grapefruit Thyme, and Strawberry Rosemary.

The juices embrace the natural flavors of fruit and vegetables like in the Field of Greens juice, which combines kale, spinach, collard greens, celery, cucumber, apple, lemon, and ginger for a healthy green juice. Or the Bells & Whistles juice which combines strawberry, apple, and carrots for a more fruit-forward drink.
