About This Women-Owned Business

The Ivy at Chatham

Indigo Yoga is a sanctuary in the towns of Caldwell and West Caldwell offering a variety of styles of yoga. It’s a supportive community that aims to help everyone become healthier and happier. The business was started 9 years ago by Stephanie Parcells, and was purchased last September by Samantha Gambuzza and her husband. The strong foundation and community that the company was founded on still shines through today. In fact, the same instructors still teach there along with a few new faces. In total, there are 20 experienced yoga teachers that are trained to work with all levels and amazing talent, as well as a few receptionists and a social media specialist to assist Samantha in day-to-day operations.

Meet the Owner

The Montclair Girl team had the pleasure of speaking with owner Samantha Gambuzza who told us that the best part of running the business is seeing how yoga can change someone’s life. She explained that watching people come out of class with a smile and change of attitude is just one of the examples that makes being a business owner so rewarding. “Our space is for everyone. You can take your first yoga class with us alongside yogis that have been practicing for years and you will still leave feeling confident, proud, and balanced.”

She added that their clients and community are what really sets indigo apart from other studios — making it feel like one big family.  “Our staff and teachers are our shining stars. Their dedication and creativity amaze me every day and our clients absolutely adore them!” Anyone can feel comfortable practicing in a safe place at Indigo.

Inviting more athletes, and building day retreats are just a few of the goals set for 2023.  Samantha said she strives to make Indigo not only an escape and recharge center for the community but a home to all.

Classes + Special Offerings

Indigo has 7 different yoga classes including Hot Yoga + Restorative. They’ve got something for everyone — Pilates, Barre, Yoga tone, shred, sculpt, HIIT, prenatal, Areal yoga, and more. Their experienced instructors know how to modify poses and make you feel comfortable and at home no matter which level or class you take. In addition to adult classes, they have seasonal and annual workshops/events, plus classes for kids.

The studio also has special offers and class packages to take advantage of. For new clients, the special promotions include: 3 classes for $30 — to use in one month and 1 month unlimited for $90. This gives you a chance to set up a routine and figure out what classes work best. The spot also has class packages (3,5,10,20) or monthly memberships — and offer amazing training, workshops, and events. In addition, Indigo has 200 + 300-hour Teacher Trainings and specialty training such as prenatal + aerial for yogis wanting to become teachers or teachers working on their skills or just for anyone to depend on their practice and relationship with yoga. They are proud to run New Jersey Teacher training as well.

Benefits of Yoga

indigo yoga caldwell

One of the many reasons why we love yoga is how one practice can turn your entire day around and make you feel content, balanced, and energized. The benefits of yoga are impactful on your mental and physical health.  For the body, yoga increases core strength, lowers blood pressure, helps with weight management, aids in digestion, detoxifies the body, relieves pain and tension, increases flexibility, improves posture, and boosts your immune system. For the mind, yoga helps increase self-acceptance and mental awareness, improves concentration and the ability to focus on the present, neutralizes stress, improves memory, boosts confidence, and balances the brain hemispheres.
