While all of the breweries on this list have indoor seating available, it’s the outdoor seating that sets them apart. From Montclair to Jersey City, we’ve rounded up the best outdoor breweries in the Northern New Jersey area to try this season.
902 Brewing Company | 101 Pacific Avenue, Jersey City
902 Brewing Company started its journey right from an apartment in Hoboken and has evolved into a large warehouse in Jersey City since. It serves up a ton of beers. The menu is extensive, and customers are bound to find something for everyone here.

Alementary Brewing Co. | 58 Voorhis Lane, Hackensack

Bolero Snort Brewery + Tasting Room | 316 20th Street, Carlstadt

Although this brewing company was founded back in 2013, Bolero Snort officially opened its doors to Bergen County in 2019. Located in the heart of the Meadowlands, this spot features a 30-barrel American-made brewhouse, and a spacious and welcoming public tasting room — as well as an outdoor area with tables. Customers can enjoy brews like an Imperial Rainbow Sherbert Sour, Pale Ale, and Euro Lager, among many other options.
Cricket Hill Brewing Co. | 24 Kulick Road, Fairfield

Established in 2001, Cricket Hill is one of the original craft breweries in New Jersey. This microbrewery serves up year-round and seasonal beers with a taproom and tours available for guests that feature tastings. Reservations are not required and the venue touts its kid-friendly vibes. Its outdoor beer garden opens on a seasonal basis, weather permitting. Departed Soles Brewery | 150 Bay Street #2A, Jersey City
Departed Soles opened its doors in Jersey City in 2015 and has been serving locals top-notch brews ever since. From GoodbIPA, Southward Ale, Brut Tang Can, and gluten-free options, there’s something for everyone. There is limited outdoor seating so plan accordingly. The space is dog-friendly, so even Fido can join in on the fun.
Diamond Spring Brewing Company | 50 Broadway, Denville

Run by a husband and wife duo, Denise Ford Sawadogo and Leopold ‘Leo’ Sawadogo have turned their passion for brewing into a wildly successful business. No matter when customers visit, there are always new beers on tap to try at Montclair Brewery. The brewery has won several awards and frequently comes up with seasonal or special-ingredient brews, in addition to fan favorites.

O’Bagel Coming to Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair
Bagels are the one food that New Jerseyans just can't get enough of, and in bagel-related news, a popular breakfast joint has announced its arrival in Montclair — which means locals will have yet another spot to satisfy their carb cravings. The Details
Montclair residents strolling along Bloomfield Avenue may notice signage for a new spot next to Club Pilates. The Montclair Girl is here to confirm that yes, it’s true — O'Bagel, a family-owned and operated bagel shop, plans to open its sixth location at 560 Bloomfield Avenue soon.
This shop, which has won titles in The Hoboken Girl's Best of awards for multiple years, serves hand-rolled bagels, house-made cream cheese, breakfast burritos, and more. O'Bagel also has lunch options like the Pesto Chicken, made with chicken cutlet or grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, arugula, and homemade pesto aioli, and the Fuego, which comes with chicken cutlet or grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, Jersey tomatoes, pickled jalapeños, and chipotle aioli.

For those with dietary restrictions, O'Bagels has gluten-free wraps and bagels in plain or everything, as well as vegan cream cheese in plain or garlic herb.
The official opening date is still unknown as of this writing. The Montclair Girl has reached out to O'Bagel and this post will be updated with any further details.
About O'Bagel
O'Bagel, a family-owned bagel spot that has been passed down through generations, "started as the vision of Sam [El-Hassan], who wanted to put his expertise of hand-rolling bagels into a suburban community that respects and appreciates fresh quality bread made from hand-selected ingredients,” according to the website.
This shop has five shops across the Garden State. Its original location, which first opened in 1995, is located in Stirling at 1168 Valley Road. The Riverwalk and Dewy Meadow shops opened in 2003, and in 2016, Sam's son Stephen El-Hassan, co-owner, chef, and CEO (Carb Executive Officer), opened the Hoboken location, which is now loved among its residents. In recent years, O'Bagel opened its fifth shop in New Brunswick, and operated a ghost kitchen in Belleville. The Montclair location will be O'Bagel's sixth locale.
