Manhattan Juice Bar

Closure of the Montclair Location

The shop’s original location at 446 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair first opened in 2013, and the Bloomfield location at 1033 Broad Street opened in October 2021.

We walked by the Montclair location on Thursday, February 15th, and noticed that the hours were taken off the door, and that there was no food inside. We then spoke to the owner and he confirmed with us that the Montclair storefront was officially closed, and that the Bloomfield location of Manhattan Juice Bar + Café remains open.

About the Menu

The juice bar’s website states: “Manhattan Juice Bar and Café’s chief aim is to promote health consciousness – and it does this by offering an extensive selection of clean and healthy food, beverages, and snack to choose from.”

Manhattan is known primarily for its fresh raw juices and protein smoothies, all of which are gluten-free and can be made vegan. The juices come in a variety of flavors like Empire State (apples, celery, cucumber, lemon, kale), Red Light (beets, apples, spinach, carrots), and Orange Cleanse (carrots, apples, ginger, lemon, orange). Customers can add extras to the selected beverage like probiotics, trace minerals, and Vitamin B complex.

Some of the smoothies (available in 16-oz, 20-oz, or 24-oz) include the Pink Panther (strawberries, banana, almond milk, + protein powder), the Statue of Liberty (avocado, honey, almond milk, + protein powder), and the King Kong (kale, banana, flax seeds, coconut milk, + protein powder). One of our favorites is the Penn Station (bananas, peanut butter, almond milk, + chocolate protein powder).

Customers also have the option of adding extras to any smoothie. The smoothies are made with a whey-based protein, but there is also the option of using a vegan-based protein.

The café’s energy balls are a must-try. The small snacks are made with oats, honey, flax seeds, chia seeds, peanut butter, coconut flakes, and almonds and are available in two flavors — chocolate chip + raisin.

In addition to the juices and smoothies, customers can choose from a variety of breakfast options, lunch options, and acai bowls. Lunch meals include the quinoa bowl, wraps, salads, and paninis.
