Earlier this year, Chip City Cookies officially opened in Montclair at 2 Church Street. Running the risk of sounding cliche, it looks like the Montclair cookie jar just keeps growing, as another new cookie chain is joining the Church Street lineup. Milk N Cookies, a cookie cafe and cereal bar is slated to open at 43 Church Street, serving up a decadent menu of stuffed cookies, milkshakes, ice cream, and other dessert vehicles for cereal. The Details
Milk N Cookies is an “upscale cookie shop with a focus on providing premium baked cookies,” started by two sweet-toothed friends in Mamaroneck, New York. The shop first opened in 2018 as a way to bring “family and friends together” over unique and decadent desserts, and since then, has garnered quite a fan base, with three locations along the East Coast. Incidentally, Montclair isn’t the first Garden State outpost for Milk N Cookies — the brand has a kiosk in the Willowbrook Mall, right across from the food court.

The namesake might promise a quintessential dessert duo, but the shop’s menu goes far beyond just milk and cookies. Browsing its Instagram, hungry scrollers will find vibrantly colored cookies stuffed with frosting, unique ice cream flavors paired with iconic cereals, and “signature” loaded shakes. Some offerings that caught our eye: vanilla soft-serve ice cream infused and topped with Cookie Crisp cereal; Reese’s Puffs milkshake with extra Reese’s Puffs on top; royal blue Cookie Monster cookie stuffed presumably with melted cookie dough Check out some of Milk N Cookie’s posts below.

Although Milk N Cookies doesn’t have a complete menu online, some sleuthing led us to its cookie selection, and there’s much to be excited about. The Churro cookie, Galaxy cookie, and Oreo Cheesecake cookie are three of twelve available to choose from. Check out the complete menu here.
Milk N Cookies is slated to open at 43 Church Street, taking over the former &son location (which is now located at 369 Bloomfield Avenue). An opening date has yet to be confirmed by Milk N Cookies nor the Montclair Center BID, who shared the news via Instagram on Friday, August 11th.
