There’s a new cookie in town. Montclair Center BID confirmed in August that the NYC-based cookie chain Chip City is making its way to Montclair, and now it’s officially open for business at 2 Church Street. With locations popping up around New Jersey and New York, Chip City has garnered attention for its diverse menu of oversized cookies. How oversized, you ask? Each cookie from Chip City weighs in at about 6 oz. each, with flavors spanning from chocolate chip to rainbow and s’mores. Keep reading to learn more about Chip City and its new Montclair location.

The brand prides itself on its unique flavors. Each week, Chip City announces a weekly menu on its website to showcase its “ooey and gooey” flavors. You can find the weekly offerings here.
The cookie company has over 16 flavors of cookies ranging from classics like chocolate chip to explorative concepts like the signature s’mores flavor. Other popular flavors served in the past have included glazed pear, red velvet cheesecake, white chocolate, snickerdoodle, butterscotch toffee, and cookies + cream. Patrons can also find holiday-themed cookies for Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, and more.

So, who comes up with these flavors? Each recipe is the brainchild of Executive Chef Andrea, according to the website. “She goes through dozens of iterations for each flavor, using only the highest quality ingredients.”
The weight of the cookies is also notable, weighing almost 6 oz each. Chip City offers individually wrapped packages of either baked or frozen cookies. Additionally, Chip City delivers nationwide through Gold Belly and has special packages for corporate gifting and catering.
The Montclair Location
On August 4th, Montclair Center BID confirmed via Instagram that Chip City is arriving at 2 Church Street in Montclair. “It’s #nationalchocolatechipcookie day! What better way to celebrate than sharing our soon-to-be newest BID member Chip City?” the post read. See the Instagram reel below.

In a comment on the post, Montclair Center also confirmed that the chain’s new outpost is situated at 2 Church Street, nearby other popular Montclair spots like Le French Dad and newcomer Dutch’s.
On October 27th, Chip City officially opened the doors to its 2 Church Street location, and is celebrating its MTC arrival with free cookies for the first 100 purchases. It’s open 11AM – 10PM every day of the week.
