Montclair
Egan + Sons | 118 Walnut Street
Egan + Sons is an essential Montclair eatery known for its outdoor dining, brews, Irish-inspired fare, and above all, giant TVs for viewing events like the World Cup. MG pro tip: If you’re a soccer fanatic, try the Thierry Henry (yes, named after the Arsenal legend), which is a bar pie with béchamel, caramelized onions, gruyere, and olives.
Just Jake’s | 30 Park Street
Just Jake’s has been a community favorite in Montclair for over two decades and is known for its sports viewing parties. The bar will be showing World Cup games for its entire duration, and more information can be found on its website.

Sam’s Table | 377 Bloomfield Avenue
Sam’s Table is known for its vegetable-forward eats, but it is also going to be a major hub for World Cup viewing parties during the summer. According to its Instagram, the restaurant will transform into a “European-inspired football pop-up built around shared plates, summer wines, and gathering around the table during the international soccer tournament.”
The Splendid Rooftop | 690 Bloomfield Avenue
This bar, located on top of the MC Hotel, is the only rooftop bar in Montclair and is great for game-day experiences. Upon visiting, expect huge TVs showing matches, comfortable seating, and a simple, yet effective food + drink menu.
Tierney’s Tavern | 138 Valley Road
Tierney’s Tavern has operated in the city since 1934, and is perfect for an authentic, classic pub experience. Tierney’s has announced via its Instagram that it will be showing World Cup matches with inside + outside TVs, and featured draft beers will be available.
Newark
Blitz Sports Bar | 179 Wilson Avenue
Blitz Sports Bar is an American + Portuguese bar that regularly shows sports games and hosts other events, like karaoke. It will be holding viewing parties for every World Cup game, with multiple screens available for viewing.
Galpao New Jersey | 57 Poinier Street
Galpao is a family-friendly Brazilian sports bar and is known for hosting watch parties of major soccer events, including the World Cup.
McGovern’s Tavern | 58-60 New Street
McGoverns has been a popular place in Newark for many years and serves classic drinks, such as a pint of Guinness + Irish coffee, Irish mimosas (Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, grapefruit juice), and more. It has plenty of bar and table space, so it’s a great option for group watch parties of the World Cup.
World Cup Fan Festival | Mulberry Street
Newark is one of several New Jersey cities that will be hosting an official World Cup fan festival this summer. It will be hosted at Mulberry Commons on Wednesday, June 24th, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Some of its features include streams of the games on large LED screens, food trucks, global cuisine, beer gardens, live music performances, artisan vendors, kids’ zones, and more.

Bunny’s Sports Bar | 12-14 South Orange Avenue, South Orange
Bunny’s has been in South Orange for generations, and is one of the city’s most common gathering spots for watch parties. It is also known for a diverse eats menu, with burgers, sandwiches, cocktails, and more.
Castle Rock Bar + Grill | 440 Main Street, West Orange
Castle Rock Bar is not only known for its viewing parties, but its specials as well. Among them are $8 martinis on Mondays (from 3:00 PM to closing), $1 wing nights on Wednesdays, and more. Be sure to check some of the daily specials out as you watch the World Cup matches.
