“Jersey Fresh” is the slogan of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, and there’s no better time of year to enjoy the bounty of the Garden State than in the summer. We’ve already shared the best farmers markets in Essex and Hudson Counties, so it’s time for a roundup of all of the farmers markets in North Jersey featuring fantastic local New Jersey vendors. Whether you prefer vegetables like tomatoes and corn or fruits like peaches and berries, there’s always something delicious and in season to find at the farmers market. Read on for our list of North Jersey farmers markets.

Bergen County

This year-round, indoor market gets deliveries daily, so everything is as fresh as can be.

Oakland | 350 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland

This indoor market offers a fresh fish counter, a deli counter, catering, and wholesale products.

Paramus | Petruska Memorial Park’s North Parking Lot, 475 Fairview Avenue, Paramus

Wednesdays 2PM – 6PM, starting June 1st

Empanadas, soup, kettle corn, and other delights round out the produce available at this market.

Ramsey | Erie Plaza Train Station Lot, 1 West Main Street, Ramsey

Summer hours: Sundays 9AM – 2PM, Year-Round

This market has several pre-made food and beverage options in addition to produce, such as fruit-infused lemonade and frozen hand-made pizzas. Other noteworthy vendors include organic skincare, knife-sharpening, candies, and alpaca wool-wear.

Ridgewood | West Side Train Lot, Godwin + W. Ridgewood Avenues, Ridgewood

Sundays 8:30AM – 2PM, starting June 26th

This market has been in operation for 22 years. Some favorite products include fresh mozzarella and handmade cannolis.

Rivervale | Town Hall Lot, 406 Rivervale Road, Rivervale

Thursdays, 1PM–6PM, Starting May 26th

Rivervale’s market is so beloved, it has its own cookbook available. While visiting, shoppers can also check out premade foods like empanadas and pies, shop for handmade wooden bowls, and get kitchen knives sharpened.

East Rutherford | 17 Eeast Union Avenue, East Rutherford

Monday-Saturday, 8AM – 9PM; Sunday, 8AM – 7PM

Fresh produce and other goods are delivered daily to this year-round, indoor market.

Rutherford | Williams Plaza, Park Avenue & Glen Road, Rutherford

Wednesdays, 11AM to 4PM, July 6th – October 26th; Saturdays, 8AM to 2PM, July 9th – October 29th

Summer 2022 marks the 25th year of the Rutherford Farmers Market. Sy Griskonis Farm is back as the main vendor for produce, and other vendors will be added before the season kicks off July 6th.

Teaneck | 408 Beverly Road (Beverly Road + Garrison Avenue Municipal Lot), Teaneck

Thursdays, 12PM – 6PM, starting Thursday May 5th

This market is held rain or shine on Thursdays, and this is its 26th season. In addition to produce, fresh-cut florals, and bakery vendors, the market also hosts food trucks. Recent food trucks have included a mobile coffee bar and a Caribbean food vendor. Several vendors are certified Kosher, and a list of vendors is posted regularly on the market’s Facebook page.

Westfield Garden State Plaza | One Garden State Plaza, Paramus

Sundays, 9AM – 2PM, starting May 22nd

This market is held rain or shine, and it features a rotating selection of food trucks each week. In addition to the food trucks, there are often special events such as a car meetup, kids activities, and live music. Some of the vendor offerings include fresh juices, handmade pickles, fresh pasta, baked goods, and more.

Morris County

Boonton Farmers Market | Upper Plane Street Parking Lot, Behind Main Street, Boonton Township

June through November, Saturdays, 8:30AM-1PM, starting June 4th

Local artisans, makers, and producers are all welcome at this farmers market. Some offerings include locally-made honey, fresh produce, and empanadas. Other Main Street vendors will join in weekly offering kids games, crafts, and other activities.

Chatham Borough Farmers Market | 1 RR Plaza S, Chatham

Saturdays, 8 AM-1 PM,  starting June 18th through November 19th

Close to two dozen vendors make up this farmers market, including locally made spirits, empanadas, and pickles. Shoppers will also find fresh produce, handmade wooden bowls, and Italian Ices.

Denville Farmers Market | Bloomfield Avenue Parking Lot, Denville

Sundays from 8:30AM-1PM Starting May 1

The Denville Farmers Market hosts an array of local vendors, including Bobolink Dairy and Bakehouse, Melick’s Town Farm, and Jersey Girl Cheese. There are many other vendors with premade foods and fresh produce. Even better, several vendors offer pre-orders so shoppers in a hurry can pick up exactly what they need.

KFresh, the Kinnelon Borough Farmers Market | 130 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon Borough Hall

Mondays, 3PM-7 PM, starting June 6th through October 10th

This market is held rain or shine. Some vendors include Holy Cannolis, Uncle Bob’s Kettlecorn, and Cactus Pete’s Jerky. The Market also supports the Kinnelon Tri-Boro Food Pantry, which provides food and essential items to Kinnelon, Butler, Bloomingdale, Riverdale, and outlying area communities.

Morristown Farmers Market | Lot #10, Spring + Morris Streets, Morristown

Sundays, 8:30AM-1PM, starting June 19th to mid-November

The Morristown Farmers Market has been running since 1990. It has live music every weekend, and several rotating vendors in addition to the anchor vendors. Some vendors include Alstede Farms, Neshanic Station Apiaries, Rogers Gourmet Seafood, and Oldwick Soup Company. Parking is free, and the event website is updated with weather and schedule-related updates.

Riverdale Farmers Market | Glenburn – 211 Hamburg Turnpike, Riverdale

Tuesdays, 2:30PM – 7PM, starting June 7th

This market offers seasonal produce, bread, wine, pickles, and more. Shoppers are reminded to bring their own shopping bags. This market offers Christmas trees during the holiday season.

Passaic County

Clifton – City Green Eco-Center | 171 Grove Street, Clifton

Wednesdays from 4PM – 6PM, starting June 1st

This five-acre farm offers community building and education along with farm-fresh produce. Neighbors are invited to shop the Farm Market on Wednesday evenings from 4PM to 6PM in Clifton.

Little Falls Farmers Market | Town Hall Parking Lot, 225 Main Street, Little Falls

Sundays from 9AM-2PM, starting May 22nd through October 30th

This market offers fresh produce as well as locally made goods, including Cano Coffee, Rosie’s Empanadas, and Jersey Pickles. There are special events every weekend, including live music and magic shows for children.

Hawthorne Farmers Market | Library Parking Lot, 345 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne

Sundays, 10AM-1:30 PM starting June 26th

This market has been in operation for 80 years, and a recent renovation means it’s better than ever. Locally grown produce and other goods are available, including Halal meat, gardening supplies, and Spanish bakery items.

Totowa Farmers Market | 430 US-46, Totowa

This year-round market is indoors and has fresh deliveries from local producers daily.

West Milford Farmers Market | 1452 Union Valley Road & Milford Lane, West Milford

Summer 2022 is the 14th season of the West Milford Farmers Market. The market’s mission is to encourage sustainable food production and community gathering. All of the vendors are from within a 75-mile radius of the market, and selected to create a diverse set of foodstuffs for shoppers. Some vendors include Sparta Mountain Farm, Rosie’s Market, Clyde’s Homemade Italian Ice & Ice Cream, and Plentiful Pink. Weather-related updates are available on the market’s Instagram.

Sussex County

Hopatcong Marketplace | Park + Ride Lot Next to 47 Hopatchung Road, Hopatcong

Third Sunday of the month from 12PM-4PM, starting July 17th through November

During the ten market dates of the Hopatcong Marketplace, shoppers will find locally grown produce, crafts, live music, and other vendors including vintage and collectibles dealers, local community organizations, and more. Live music will be performed at each market.

Sparta Farmers Market | Sparta Health + Wellness Center Parking Lot, 89 Sparta Avenue, Sparta Township

Sussex County Farmers Market at the Fairgrounds | The Sussex County Fairgrounds, 37 Plains Road, Augusta

This market is designed to support Sussex County producers. Shoppers will find locally produced meats, vegetables, fruits, fiber crafts, dairy products, and wine. Updates are posted on the market’s Facebook page.
