This fall, a familiar favorite is taking on a brand new approach to sports-viewing. The Splendid Rooftop, located on top of the MC Hotel, is the place to be for football, sports, or just gorgeous views of New York City. Located at 690 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, this rooftop is Montclair’s only rooftop bar and has everything you need for an elevated (literally) game-day experience. Fresh Look, Same Views
The Splendid Rooftop has always been about the views, but a recent refresh (led by Stout NYC Hospitality Group, new operators of the F&B outlets at the MC) has brought a whole new energy to the space. Spanning more than 3,000 square feet, the rooftop now feels open, stylish, versatile, and sleek. It is a great spot to grab post-work drinks or to catch a game, whether it’s football, baseball, or the US Open.
The balance of indoor and outdoor eating means The Splendid Rooftop is a destination for year-round enjoyment. It’s fully taking on a sports bar vibe this season, with big screens, comfortable seating, and high energy. Though sports are taking center field this fall, Splendid will continue hosting its DJ and trivia nights throughout the fall.
A Menu Made for Game Day + Every Day
When it comes to food, The Splendid Rooftop keeps it simple but classy. The menu from Chef Dan Drohan is built around shareable plates and fan favorites like sliders (burgers, chicken parm, and sausage + peppers), flatbreads, bruschetta, etc. Don’t sleep on the cacio e pepe popcorn, either — you’ll thank us later.
The drink menu is the true star of the show, with a menu of bold and creative flavors. In addition to a full beer and wine menu (might we add properly-poured Guinness as well), The Splendid Rooftop has a curated selection of cocktails that reimagine longtime favorites. A few we love: the MC Margarita (mala vida blanco tequila, lime, and agave), Lychee Cosmo, and the Lime in the Coconut (vodka, rum, coconut puree, lime, and pineapple).
