The Family

Just Jake’s began as a family-run business and has since grown in popularity among locals, thanks to its weekly events, fundraisers, classic American dishes, and creative drinks. You can stop by during the six-hour Happy Hour that happens on weekdays, where the drinks are half-priced, enjoy the game on the big screens on a Sunday afternoon, or check out a new band on the weekends.

The Ivy at Chatham

Patty Sweeney is the manager and one of the founding owners of Just Jake’s. In fact, it is named after her nephew Jake. Despite its success, the restaurant still has a family feel. “The children of the original owners are now working there,” she said. “We all work well together.”

Events + Fun

Patty is responsible for booking the bands, organizing fundraisers, and coordinating private gatherings. One popular option is a two-hour, step-by-step paint class for all skill levels.

“We have a back dining area where we host most of our private events, but we also have an outdoor patio that can be rented for parties, “ she said, noting that it was recently used for a wedding.

The Food

Whether you are at Just Jake’s for Happy Hour or a casual dinner, you’ll find a variety of options on the menu. Choose from selections like a hummus bowl with chicken or mushrooms, Korean BBQ ribs, and firehouse chili.  There is even a menu exclusively for NFL Sundays that includes a football burger made with “Pat LaFrieda” special blend, cheddar, pickled onion, bacon, BBQ sauce, and a fried egg. To keep with the neighborhood feel, the food incorporates products from local businesses, including Le French Dad Boulangerie and Guerriero Gelato.
