New Jersey has become a popular destination for filmmaking not just because it’s beautiful and has a lot to offer filmmakers. There are many tax credit programs available to companies who come to the Garden State with their projects. Cities in North Jersey have dedicated film offices to help coordinate permitting and community relations between a film crew and the neighborhood. Several blockbuster films have used Newark and other Essex County towns as a backdrop including The Dark Knight Rises, Many Saints of Newark, and War of the Worlds.
Other Celebs in Essex County
Many celebrities have been seen gracing the Montclair, Essex County, and North Jersey area over the past few months. Diane Keaton was in the area filming a movie recently, and was spotted at Irish restaurant Egan and Sons in Montclair. In February, Emma Roberts and William H. Macy were both spotted at Fascino as well as Tierney’s Tavern in Montclair. Tom Holland was also spotted at the village at SOPAC in February promoting his new movie, Uncharted.
