The Ivy at Chatham

Name: Scooby Doo

Breed: Mixed breed — most likely Lab mix

Weight: 60 pounds

Age: 4

Ideal Home: An active home with a backyard would be best. Scooby Doo is friendly and loves to be outside and play, go for walks, and is up for most adventures — as long as his favorite people are tagging along!

Kids: Should be fine.

Dogs: Gets along with most dogs.

Cats: Hasn’t encountered many, will bark at them.

Crate-Trained: Yes

House Trained: Yes

Other training: Knows basic commands like sit and stay.

Leash Manners: Walks great on a leash.

Personality: Overall, Scooby Doo has a great personality! He is friendly with everyone he meets, including most dogs. He is playful, allows handling, takes treats gently from your hand, is very affectionate, and scored great on his evaluation.

Why she/he was brought to the rescue: He was found by a nearby shelter as a stray in July, 15 pounds underweight with his ribs very visible. After some TLC, he gained healthy weight and was transferred to BAS in early September with the goal of finding a furever home. He hasn’t gained anyone’s attention yet, and we aren’t sure why! This boy hits all the marks on adoptability.

Domino

Animal Lighthouse Rescue

Name: Domino

Breed: Lab mix

Weight: 50 pounds

Age: 1.5

Ideal Home: Domino would do best in the suburbs or a quiet street in the city. He does not get along with other dogs or cats so he would need to be the only pet in the household. Domino needs an experienced adopter who will continue with his training and make sure that safety is the number one priority for both Domino and for other people he is around.

Kids: He likes kids but he is a strong dog so they should be older in age.

Dogs: No

Cats: No

Crate-Trained: Yes

House Trained: Yes

Other training: Knows sit, stay, place, heel, and leave it.

Leash Manners: Domino walks well on the leash unless he sees another dog, then he may start to pull.

Personality: Domino is a happy-go-lucky dog who will smother you with kisses. He loves to lie on the couch or in bed with you and will play with as many toys as possible.

Why she/he was brought to the rescue: Domino came from a shelter in South Carolina and has certain protective tendencies. Because of that, he was originally adopted and returned about two months ago.

Animal Lighthouse Rescue

Name: Shadow

Breed: Lab mix

Weight: 20 pounds

Age: 7 months

Ideal Home: Shadow would do best in the suburbs or a quiet street in the city. He loves people and other dogs but is afraid of city noises.

Kids: He would be fine with children and would love someone who wants to be with him all the time.

Dogs: Yes

Cats: Yes

Crate-Trained: No

House Trained: No

Leash Manners: Shadow is currently living on a busy street in the city — so he isn’t fond of walking on the leash just yet.

Why she/he was brought to the rescue: Shadow came from the ALR sister shelter in Puerto Rico.
