Montclair’s Winter Wonderland Returns for 2023

To kick off the holiday season, the Montclair Center Business Improvement District (BID) has announced the return of the Winter Wonderland event. Teaming up with The Wellmont Theater and Pharmacie Kitchen + Bar, this event will transform Montclair into a magical holiday experience for everyone of all ages to enjoy. The Winter Wonderland event will have a lineup of activities from selfie stations to raffles. Read on to learn more about this Winter Wonderland event taking place in Montclair next weekend.

What to Expect

On Saturday, November 25th at 12:30PM, the Winter Wonderland will coincide with the nationwide observance of Shop Small Saturday. This holiday entails shopping at local businesses to support them. Event-goers can attend the event by heading towards Wellmont Arts Plaza at 5 Seymour Street in Montclair. There will be live music, carolers, and appearances made by beloved holiday and other characters, including Santa, The Grinch, Princess Belle, and an elf that will be hula-hooping.

The Ivy at Chatham

The family-friendly event will include a range of interactive activities. Kids’ craft stations will be available for little ones to unleash their creativity. Event-goers will have the opportunity to participate in raffles with prizes yet to be announced. Families can also capture their holiday memories with selfie stations that will be set up throughout the venue. Local non-profit organizations will have activity booths set up throughout the plaza. Besides these organizations, activity stations will be set up by businesses like Fresh Pediatric Dentistry, One River School, GB Art Gallery, Gravity Vault, Montclair Mutual Aid, Bond Vet, Para KIDS! Books, Art With All, Goddard School Montclair, Lulu’s Artisanal Cafe, and Little Treasure Thrift Shop Inc., among others. The event will then conclude with a local tree lighting at 6PM.

As for the live entertainment, the lineup will feature a range of performers including performances by Jazz House Kids, Vanguard Theater, Art Murray Dance, Kassaye Selassie, Beyond the Boogie, and the MHS Holiday Choir. Performances will begin at 12:45PM.

 

 

Attendees can also snag a special treat, as the first 100 visitors will receive a Shop Small tote bag. All guests will receive a fully digital shopping map and a local gift guide, highlighting Shop Small Saturday discounts and specials available throughout Montclair. With over 70 businesses participating, there will be an assortment of holiday gift-shopping choices to shop from for loved ones this season.

In terms of the event’s parking situation, there will be a strictly enforced free 2-hour parking at all meters. This will allow sufficient time to get holiday shopping done and join in on the activities for the day. Attendees can use the event’s hashtag #MontclairCenter during the event to help bring awareness to the local businesses that are participating.
