About the Shop
Roulande Begy is the CEO and Executive Director of Little Treasure Thrift Shop. Begy has a Business Administration degree and was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She is driven by supporting students in Essex County through Little Treasure.
The store’s mission states, “We are a non-profit dedicated to providing local students with the clean, and complete uniforms that they deserve, and need to excel within their studies.”
“Working in the Orange Public Schools district for 15 years, I have seen students show up to schools with dirty clothes and uniforms and it concerned me, Begy told Montclair Girl. “I started to buy clothes for these students so I could prevent bullying…For 13 years, I had been sitting on the idea of creating my own organization in which I can help these kids and make a difference in their lives. The reason I call this organization LittleTreasure is because all of these kids I’m helping are my little treasures.”
Another way Little Treasure Thrift Shop directly supports youth is by offering free arts and crafts classes for ages 3-12 every Saturday from 11AM-4PM.
