Waffles, pancakes, and French toast claim the trifecta for breakfast foods, especially in diner-rich New Jersey, but we all know who the true winner is. The versatile pancake with its fruit, nuts, chocolate, and numerous toppings and fillings has a special place in our breakfast hearts. For those with Celiac or following a gluten-free diet, it may be challenging to come across a diner, cafe, or restaurant that offers gluten-free pancakes. Luckily for you, we have done the research (it was an arduous task, but someone had to do it) and compiled a list of North Jersey businesses serving up gluten-free pancakes. Read on for where to find gluten-free pancakes in North Jersey.
Brownstone Pancake Factory | 717 East Palisade Avenue Englewood Cliffs, 860 River Road Edgewater, + Others
When you think of New Jersey specialty pancakes, Brownstone Pancake Factory should be the first place to come to mind. With over 25 speciality options, this is the place to go if you are always looking to try something new. You can substitute any of their pancake flavors to be made with their gluten-free batter or with buckwheat. At Brownstone, you can order your pancakes either sweet or savory. If you are looking for something sweet, you’ll get toppings and fillings such as chocolate, shredded coconut, strawberries, peanut butter chips, walnuts, and whipped cream. For something savory you can look forward to ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, cheddar cheese, pulled pork carnitas, and sour cream.
