The History
Toast was introduced to the town of Montclair in May of 2007. The restaurant opened with a firm belief in: “Peace, Love, & Pancakes.” While the Toast brand has since expanded by opening locations in Asbury Park and Red Bank, the restaurant’s foundation remains the same.

Amy Russo, Toast’s founder, can often be found in the restaurant catching up with returning customers and making sure new customers are taken care of. The environment at this New Jersey staple is one that’s warm and welcoming. It’s a spot perfect for weekend family outings, business meetings during the week, and everything in between.
On a normal day, the restaurant is open for about seven hours (7:30AM – 3PM on the weekend, and 8AM – 3PM on the weekdays) – but during that time, there are loyal residents and visitors coming through the door to enjoy a meal.

The Menu
Whether you’re going for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, Toast’s menu is expertly crafted to offer something that any diner may want. The menu has a wide variety of offerings, but patrons will want to add pancakes to the list of must-try at this diner.

Toast offers unique pancake flavors like Carrot Cake and Red Velvet, which comes with a side of cream cheese frosting and maple syrup. If you’re not in the mood for pancakes, the local spot has also been recognized for its eggs, salads, wraps, and other menu items. The menu also contains a wide variety of sandwiches and burgers – from Lobster Rolls to Gourmet Grilled Cheeses and more.
As for drinks, we recommend the unique (and incredibly tasty) French Toast Latte. It is the perfect amount of cinnamon flavor and sweetness – especially to kickstart the weekend.

While people mostly come for a breakfast or lunch meal, Toast also has become an alternative for birthday parties, small showers, and other events. On weekends, those who are 21+ often bring champagne (because everyone loves a BYOB). Regardless of the reason you stop in, you’ll leave inspired to have a good day.
