All About Montclair Diner
This quaint restaurant located right next to Tortas Lokas, and is two doors down from Mercado. Once visitors are able to navigate to the blue awning that reads “Montclair Diner” in all capital letters, they’re in the right place.

The restaurant looks just like any other diner, but the warm welcomes of the staff instantly give it a home-like feel. It consists of mostly small red and blue booths, but for bigger groups, there is one table up front by the window with street views of the passing Montclair life. There is also a large bar where diners can grab a quick coffee or have a solo meal. It is a simple place, but authentic and comfortable.
The Food
As for the menu, guests will see the endless possibilities of diner food along with some Montclair Diner favorites and specials. For those looking for a light lunch with a salad or a chicken Caesar wrap, or who are feeling bold and want to tackle the Hungry Man Sandwich with roast beef, sautéed onions, cheese, and brown gravy — the menu has everything covered.

The diner is good for blueberry pancakes and crispy bacon at breakfast, and it’s important to note that the diner makes an especially good cup of coffee. MG pro tip: you can’t go wrong with the eggs benny here, it’s one of our go-to dishes.

Montclair Diner also serves up a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches, from specialty ones like an eggplant parmigiana panini or a Greek-style sandwich called the “Parthenon” with gyro meat, lettuce, onions, and tzatziki sauce. The portions are generous so patrons will most likely leave here with leftovers for a midnight snack or tomorrow’s lunch.
Breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner are all served at Montclair Diner, and all for a fair price. A meal here will not break the bank and it also gives Montclair State University students an incentive to come back with a 10% discount on every meal.
