Although Newark is already home to several bubble tea shops, if you’re unfamiliar with bubble tea, it’s a Taiwanese tea-based drink that has chewy tapioca balls that fall to the bottom and come in endless variations of flavor. The shell of the boba (balls) is made from seaweed extract, with fruit flavors inside.

At Bubbleology, patrons can mix their flavors of choice – and there are a lot of flavors to choose from.

There’s a selection of milk-based teas with popular flavors like caramel frappe, Jasmine, and match. The fruit teas come in flavors like pomegranate, passionfruit, and mango.

For the bubble tea enthusiasts, there’s a section on the menu for “special drinks” that boast creations like the Bobatella which is basically a milkshake with Nutella, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and a touch of Jasmine. The Nojito is also a stand-out – made up of coconut water, lychee, mint, and blueberry boba.

Additionally, there’s a cocktail and bubble fix section.

The brand uses creamer in its standard milk teas and coffees and soya milk in the light versions. It also offers organic milk alternatives if you wish.

As for the bubble waffles or waffleology – it’s essentially a waffle cone (vanilla or chocolate) with different toppings piled inside of it. Patrons can choose from either customizing their own with gelato, toppings, and sauces or choose one of the specials.

It’s unclear what the opening date of Bubbleology’s Newark location will be but we will keep you updated as the details continue to unfold.
