These 5 Dogs are Looking to Be Adopted in the North Jersey Area

Meet Guillermo, a Vizsla; Frankie, a Sato; Tsuki, a Corgi mix; Burton, a Shih Tzu mix; and Shelley, a Mini Golden Doodle. These five dogs are looking to find their forever homes in the North Jersey area. While each of these adorable pups may have different personalities, they are all looking for a family to make memories with for many years to come. Read on to learn more about these furry friends and how to adopt them from WISE Animal Rescue. 

Guillermo

WISE Animal Rescue

Name: Guillermo

Breed: Vizsla

Age: 3 months

Gender: Male

Ideal Home: Guillermo is very young and is looking for an home who is home more often than not to spend time playing and training him. He needs to go into a home with another adult dog to show him the ropes. Guillermo is a shy guy who needs a patient family who can show him the world is a fun, safe place! In addition, Guillermo requires a home with working and/or hunting dog experience.

Kids: 10+

Dogs: Yes

Cats: Unknown

Crate Trained: Working on it

House Trained: Working on it

Training: As he is very young, his forever home must be experienced and ready to put him through training so he can become the well-behaved adult the WISE Team knows he can be.

Personality: Guillermo is a bit nervous but loves spending time with his doggy siblings. He’ll need to build his confidence to become the playful puppy that’s definitely inside of him.

Why he was brought to the rescue: Guillermo was rejected by a pet shop and was to be returned to the mill where he was destined to be euthanized.

Frankie

WISE Animal Rescue

Name: Frankie

Breed: Sato (Puerto Rican super mutt)

Age: 1 year old

Ideal Home: Frankie needs a family who is home more often than not as she does get anxious. Her family also must be willing to play, train, run, hike, and adventure with her. Frankie is always up for fun and is very eager to learn.

Kids: 13+

Dogs: Yes, she enjoys playing with other dogs a lot.

Cats: Unknown, shelter will cat-test for an approved adopter.

Crate Trained: Yes, but she does whine or cry in there initially.

House Trained: Yes, she will tell you when she has to go outside.

Leash Manners: Frankie LOVES walks and is initially excited on her walk and then settles down and walks well.

Training: Frankie is still a puppy and needs training and structure. She is looking for a home who will provide her with mental stimulation and physical exercise.

Personality: Frankie is an energetic, intelligent dog who will love an active home. She can even solve puzzle toys! Once Frankie’s burned off her energy, she will happily snuggle up with you on the couch. She enjoys being pet and getting her hair brushed. She’s our princess!

Why was she brought to the rescue: Frankie came to WISE from Puerto Rico after being found as a stray.

Tsuki

Name: Tsuki

Breed: Corgi/Shiba Inu mix

Age: 3 months

Gender: Female

Ideal Home: Tsuki is very young and is looking for an active family who is home more often than not to spend time playing and training her. She’d do best in a home with another adult dog.

Kids: 10 +

Cats: Unknown

Crate Trained: Working on it

House Trained: Working on it

Leash Manners: Working on it

Training: As she is very young, her forever home must be experienced and ready to put her through training to help her reach her full potential.

Personality: Tsuki is both playful and active. She loves walks and running outside. Tsuki is very curious and loves to be a bit mischievous. She loves toys and chewy toys. She also loves to be picked up to cuddle and is very calm when you are holding her. When she winds down, she likes to cuddle up next to you and relax.

Why she was brought to the rescue: Tsuki was rejected by a pet shop and was to be returned to the mill where she was destined to be euthanized.

Burton

Breed: Shetland Sheepdog/Shih Tzu mix

Age: 3 months

Gender: Male

Ideal Home: Burton is very young and is looking for a family who is home more often than not to spend time playing and training him. It’d be best for him to be with another adult dog to show him the ropes.

Kids: 13+

Dogs: Yes

Cats: Unknown

Crate Trained: Working on it

House Trained: Working on it

Training: As he is very young, his forever home must be experienced and ready to put him through training to help him reach his full potential.

Personality: Burton enjoys his playtime with this doggy foster siblings. His foster describes him as very social. He loves chew toys and exploring. When playtime is over, Burton will snuggle up on the couch with his human and doggy foster siblings for cuddles and love.

Why he was brought to the rescue: Burton was rejected by a pet shop and was to be returned to the mill where he was going to be euthanized.

Shelley

WISE Animal Rescue

Name: Shelley

Breed: Golden Retriever/Miniature Poodle (Mini Golden Doodle)

Age: 2 years

Gender: Female

Ideal Home: Shelley has had a rough start to her life after being used over and over to breed puppies for a mill. She is learning how to be a dog and needs a patient, loving home. Shelley should go to a home with a confident dog in it. She requires a home with a fully fenced yard.

Personality: Shelley is shy and nervous but shows no aggression. As soon as she knows you, she wants to be by your side at all times to get all the pets. She loves to play with other dogs and needs a home with another dog in it to show her the ropes.

Kids: 10+

Dogs: Yes

Cats: Unknown

Crate Trained: Working on it

House Trained: Working on it

Training: Shelley will need training to help boost her confidence.

Why she was brought to the shelter: Shelley’s “breeders” were done using her over and over again to produce puppies and she was set to be euthanized.
