Read on for more about the Happy Gilmore 2 filming in Essex County, New Jersey this month.

Happy Gilmore 2 is a sequel to the 1996 film Happy Gilmore — which follows Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) as a failed ice hockey player turned golf pro who ends up winning the Pro Tour. Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will reprise their roles as Virginia Venit (Happy’s love interest) and Shooter McGavin, respectively, and per IMDb, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and musician Bad Bunny will also act in the film. The sequel will premiere on Netflix, but a release date has not yet been announced.
Per a now-expired casting call on Backstage, Grant Wilfley Casting was seeking “people to portray 2000s Golf Spectators” in the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 movie starting around Tuesday, September 24th in West Orange, New Jersey. No acting experience was required. The description noted that it was an exterior, daytime shoot and that the casting agents were seeking talent from West Orange, Livingston, Roseland, Montclair, East Hanover, Verona, South Orange, East Orange, and New York City. There was a previous casting call on Tuesday, August 20th at the Hyatt Regency in Morristown, which saw hundreds of locals lining the streets for their chance to be in the highly-anticipated sequel.
