Happy Gilmore 2 has been spotted filming all around Northern New Jersey over the past few weeks, and Adam Sandler (who plays Happy Gilmore in the films), has also been seen checking out local Essex County spots. Per Patch West Orange, Adam visited Faubourg in Montclair, Goldberg’s World Famous Deli + Bagels in Millburn, and the Montclair Golf Club. The film was also shooting in Irvington recently. The A-list actor was also spotted multiple times at a coffee shop in Morristown earlier this month.
Happy Gilmore 2 is a sequel to the 1996 film Happy Gilmore — which follows Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) as a failed ice hockey player turned golf pro who ends up winning the Pro Tour. Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will reprise their roles as Virginia Venit (Happy’s love interest) and Shooter McGavin, respectively, and per IMDb, football player Travis Kelce and musician Bad Bunny will also act in the film. The sequel will premiere on Netflix, but a release date has not yet been announced.
The news of this West Orange filming comes after the township was designated as a Film Ready Community by the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission (NJMPTVC) as a part of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) earlier this year.
