Two Montclair polling locations were changed ahead of Wednesday’s Special General Election to fill the term of Representative Donald Payne Jr. in the United States House of Representatives 10th Congressional District through January 3rd, when his term was set to expire. Representative Payne passed away earlier this year after suffering a heart attack this past April. The election is being held between LaMonica McIver and Carmen Bucco. What to Know
A Special General Election is being held on Wednesday, September 18th between former Newark Council President LaMonica McIver (Democrat) and New Jersey businessman Carmen Bucco (Republican) for the United States House of Representatives seat in the 10th Congressional District. The late Representative Donald Payne Jr.’s term was set to expire on January 3rd.

Residents of the 10th Congressional District — which includes portions of Essex, Hudson, and Union counties — can vote in this election. Polls are open from 10AM-8PM, and residents can find their polling locations here.
Per Montclair Local, two Montclair polling locations were changed ahead of the Special Election. Those who live in Ward 4 District 6 can vote at Trinity United Church, located at 5 High Street (originally Nishuane School). Residents of Ward 2 District 7 can vote at the Montclair High School auditorium located at 100 Chestnut Street using the Park Street Entrance (originally George Inness Annex gym).
