All About Mountains Therapy
Mountains Therapy is an empowering mental health practice that provides a safe space for people to explore challenges and develop strategies for personal growth.
The practice specializes in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, OCD, and PTSD. Therapists provide in-person counseling in Montclair and online sessions for people in New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, and Utah. Clients with or without insurance are welcome at this practice.
Christina Andino, LCSW, MSW founded Mountains Therapy as a casual, judgment-free zone to elevate mental well-being through therapy and counseling. She told The Montclair Girl that “being a guide for others as they navigate life’s challenges and witnessing their personal growth along the way” makes her job rewarding.
“To those who may be hesitant to seek support, I invite you to consider the transformative power of therapy,” she said.
The Mountains Therapy team understands that starting therapy can be scary. Prospective clients can schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to find a therapist they feel comfortable working with.
“We have lived experience from therapists and counselors who have anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma that can personally relate to the client,” she said.

Counseling and Coaching Services
Christina believes counseling is a collaborative experience. The team includes therapists of color + therapists with lived experiences who work hand-in-hand with clients.
“We’re known for our dedication to excellence and take pride in offering exceptional care tailored to your unique needs,” Christina said.
Clients can find peace and healing through anxiety therapy, depression therapy, trauma therapy, and relationship issue therapy.
Anxiety therapy uses gentle yet effective techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness activities that help clients find inner peace and stability amidst chaos.
Depression therapy is a nurturing and supportive space where clients can explore emotions and uncover triggers. Clients work with compassionate therapists to reignite hope and embrace life’s possibilities. Trauma therapy uses evidence-based approaches like EMDR and somatic experiencing to help people who are haunted by the past reclaim their stories.
Relationship issues therapy is a space where individuals and couples can use open communication strategies to build trust and cultivate deeper connections with the important people in their lives.
“Your mental wellness is important, and at Mountains Therapy, we’re here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth,” Christina said. “Together, let’s climb the mountains of life, one step at a time.”
New Clients Are Welcome
Starting therapy is a big step and it is normal to feel nervous, excited, and uncertain before the first session.
To make the first session easier, the Mountains Therapy team recommends reflecting on what you want to get out of therapy. Write down any goals or specific concerns to address. Make sure to fill out any necessary paperwork and double-check the time and location before your first appointment.
“And most importantly, approach your session with an open mind and a willingness to engage. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your active participation is key,” Christina said.
Mountains Therapy is currently accepting new clients + appointments can be requested online.
“Today marks the beginning of your path toward healing — a path illuminated by hope, resilience, and the steadfast support of compassionate professionals,” she said.
