Saturday, May 4th will be the date of this year’s Kentucky Derby — and whether you’re an equine expert or are simply in it for entertainment, there’s nothing quite like viewing a sports event from the barstool of a local spot. To help prepare for the festivities, we rounded up a list of restaurants and bars in Montclair and around Essex County where you can view the Derby and indulge in some food and drink specials as well as other events in New Jersey. Cloverleaf Tavern | 395 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell

Montclair Brewery | 101 Walnut Street, Montclair
Although there is no specific event for the Kentucky Derby, Montclair Brewery can show it. That Saturday, the brewery will have live music from 7:30PM to 9:30PM and food from 6PM to 11PM. Learn more here.
