The women- and Black-owned ice cream shop first opened at 162 Glenwood Avenue in Bloomfield in 2017 and quickly became popular for the ‘Kremewhich’ — an ice cream sandwich that consists of both ice cream and cake with a variety of flavors to pick from. Also known for its ‘Over The MOOn’ ice cream, Kreme and Krumbs has offered flavors like Peanutbutta Milk and Kookies, Junk Kreme (vanilla ice cream, brownie chunks, caramel, and salted pretzels), and its version of Rocky Road called Jersey Turnpike. Online ordering has also become available now that the shop has reopened. The move to Montclair comes after a 2021 pop-up shop at 491 Bloomfield Avenue, which is the former Crazy Mocha space at Vault 491.
