Tostchu opened in November of 2019 and is led by owner Gohkan Bars. Gohkan brings a Turkish flair to the sandwiches with flavors and ingredients from his home county. He often greets customers who walk through the door from behind the counter and offers them a free slice of pastrami to try. The name Tostchu stems from a Turkish phrase that means “tost” or panini master, according to the deli’s website.

A cool and casual dining room Tostchu embraces its deli feel with white subway tile covering most of the store from behind the wood-topped counter. Casual bar stool seating at a few tables gives customers a place to sit and relax as they dig into their sandwiches. A gallery wall of the shop’s sandwich offerings pops against its sleek white walls, giving you the ability to truly appreciate your lunch as a work of art.

Tostchu’s portions are generous, with pastrami stacked high on homemade bread. So if you are looking to try out the flavors in multiple sandwiches, it is best to bring a friend with you.

One of the shop’s most popular sandwiches is the Pastrami with Cheese, which comes with a pile of Pastrami and your choice of cheese between American, Mozzarella, and Swiss. It is topped with mustard and comes with a side of coleslaw and a pickle.

For the super hungry, there is the Everything Sandwich which comes with Daddy’s tomato paste, Traditional Turkish Kashkaval, cheese, Anatolian Peperoni, aged dry beef, egg, and a pickle.

Pickle lovers can swap out the bread for two giant pickle slices instead on the Patriot Pastrami Sandwich.

And for those who don’t eat meat, Tostcu Offers a veggie sandwich with Daddy’s tomato paste, vegetables, cheese, mushroom, spinach, and a pickle.

Diners can also create a custom order with the available toppings so you can be sure your sandwich will suit your tastes. All sandwiches are available in full size and half size orders.
