How Pursue PT Got Started

Pursue Physical Therapy was started in 2016 by licensed physical therapist, Dr. Brandon Cruz. He is one of two Physical therapists in New Jersey that is fellowship trained in orthopedic manual physical therapy and holds dual board certifications in orthopedics and sports physical therapy.

After nearly five years of success in Verona, Dr. Cruz was thrilled to expand his practice into Hoboken in 2021. He couldn’t wait to open up shop in the tight-knit and welcoming community of the Mile Square that he calls home.

“We have been welcomed by other businesses that have been open and willing to support us especially when we first opened,” shared Dr. Cruz about the city of Hoboken. His team consists of six other Doctors of Physical Therapy, in addition to a Director of Operations and a Patient Care Coordinator.

“We take pride in helping our patients avoid surgery and injections whenever possible,” Dr. Cruz shared with The Montclair Girl team. “Our goal is to provide a personalized treatment plan for each patient to help achieve goals and improve quality of life.”

Treatments Available

The offices have a wide range of treatments available to help patients recover from injuries, manage chronic pain, improve mobility, and prevent future injuries. Beginning with an in-depth evaluation, the team at Pursue PT will be able to make a diagnosis and create a personalized treatment plan for you. Some of the treatment practices include:

Manual Therapy: Hands-on techniques to mobilize and manipulate joints, soft tissues, and muscles to relieve pain and improve function.

Physical Therapy: Strength and conditioning exercises specific to patient needs with the goal of improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.

Sports Rehabilitation: Working with athletes to assist in recovery from sports-related injuries and improve athletic performance.

Dry Needling: A treatment used to relieve pain and muscle tension through the insertion of thin needles into specific trigger points.

Ultrasound Imaging: A non-invasive diagnostic tool used to view internal images of muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Cupping: Using suction cups on the skin to create a vacuum effect to increase blood flow, reducing inflammation, and promote healing.

Additional recovery services performed at Pursue Physical Therapy include Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Normatec Compression Boots, and Blood Flow Restriction Therapy.

Dr. Cruz and his team also provide direct access to these services, which means patients can be treated without a referral from a physician.
