Montclair Film has announced an exciting tribute event that is set to occur during the festival. On Friday, October 27th, filmmaker Martin Scorsese will be honored. Martin Scorsese is known as an Academy Award-winning director and has made a big impact on the filmmaking industry. He has won Best Director and Best Picture at the Academy Awards for his film, The Departed. With these accomplishments, Montclair Film will be honoring him with the 2023 Filmmaker Tribute. About the Event
The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) will open its doors to host the festival’s 2023 Filmmaker Tribute to Martin Scorsese. It will be taking place on Friday, October 27th at 8PM. Stephen Colbert will also be a significant part of the night. The duo will sit down in a discussion where they will discuss and celebrate Scorsese’s remarkable career as one of the industry’s greatest filmmakers.

With two Academy Awards under his belt from The Departed, Mr. Scorsese has also earned Academy Award nominations for other films The Wolf of Wall Street and The Irishman in the categories Best Director and Best Picture. Recently, he made an appearance at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival with his upcoming film, Killers of The Flower Moon. The film is set to release in theaters worldwide on October 20th, 2023, before streaming globally on the Apple TV+ streaming service.

How to Get Tickets
On Wednesday, September 13th, tickets to the 2023 Filmmaker Tribute to Martin Scorsese with Stephen Colbert will be available for purchase at 10AM for Montclair Film members only. Thursday, September 14th, tickets will be made available for American Express cardholders and NJPAC donors at 10AM. Public ticket sales will then begin on Saturday, September 16th at 10AM either through NJPAC’s site here or Ticketmaster here.

Also, tickets can be purchased via telephone at 1-888-GO-NJPAC (1-888-466-5722) or in person at the NJPAC Box Office at One Center Street in Newark. Funds earned from ticket sales will go directly to benefit Montclair Film.
