The Montclair Comedy Festival, produced by Sweet + Sour Comedy, is hosting its first festival this year in Montclair. The inaugural Montclair Comedy Festival will take place from November 13th to November 15th and will include stand-up, improv, workshops, and more. About the Montclair Comedy Festival
The Montclair Comedy Festival is being produced by Sweet + Sour Comedy. Led by Suzanne Stein and Natty Bumpercar, Sweet + Sour Comedy is a New Jersey-based production company. The company has produced numerous comedy shows for over a decade, including fundraisers, comedy shows, and private functions.
The Montclair Comedy festival describes itself as a “celebration of laughs, talent, and community” which you can support on its website here. The festival will take place from Thursday, November 13th, to Saturday, November 15th. Viewers can buy tickets for specific events on the Montclair Comedy Festival website here where you can also buy the All-Access Festival Pass. The events will take place at various locations around Montclair, including Just Jake’s, Rec Room, and more.
On the Montclair Comedy Festival website, Suzanne and Natty say that they wish to “bring people together through laughter, elevate diverse comedic voices, and create spaces where performers and audiences alike feel welcome.”
The festival will spotlight many up-and-coming voices, including some of Montclair’s very own. Neighbors should be on the lookout for Diego Goldfrank, Montclair High School class of 2021, in the Hot Out of The Gate Standup Competition.

Thursday
The opening day of the festival will consist of a Hot Out of The Gate Standup Competition at 7PM and an After Bedtime O’clock Standup show at 8:30PM. Comedians include Barbie Lazaro, performing in the Hot Out of The Gate Standup Competition. You can buy tickets here.
Friday
Friday events include improv, variety shows, and stand-up. Events begin at 6:30PM with a variety show and the last event, the Spotlight Stand-Up Showcase, starts at 10:15PM. You can see performers like Max Runner and Darin Patterson in the Fun Friday Stand-Up Comedy Competition Show. You can buy tickets here.
Saturday
The final day of the festival will start at 11AM with a family-friendly improv show. Throughout the day, you can buy passes for workshops, improv shows, and comedy shows. The closing event, “The Big Show” begins at 9PM. You can buy tickets here.
