A Recap

After voting in the November election, Montclair residents voted to change from a Type 1 appointed school board to a Type 2 elected school board. The first step in the process to change Types is the special election that took place on March 8th that resulted in electing two School Board members and increasing the Township of Montclair School Board from seven members to nine members.

“The people of Montclair have decided to elect its School Board Members. In doing so, they need to have a ‘Special Election’ in March to elect two Board Members,” said Christopher J. Durkin Essex County Clerk.
