It may be on the complete other side of the county, but Hollywood is full of A-list celebrities who hail from New Jersey. Just to name a few, the list includes Bruce Willis, Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, Queen Latifa, Martha Stewart, and Fetty Wap – no need to even mention The Boss himself (you decide if we mean Bruce or James Gandolfini – both from Jersey). But recently, several of our very own New Jersey natives received their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Since the beginning of 2023, Ice-T, Ray Liotta, the Jonas Brothers, and most recently Michael B. Jordan all cemented their place in Hollywood history and we couldn’t be prouder of these Jersey guys. Read on for more about these hometown heroes gone Hollywood.

Michael B. Jordan

Known for his roles as Eric Kilmonger in Blank Panther and Adonis Johnson in Creed I, II, and III, Michael B. Jordan was raised in Newark. He is an actor, producer, and director and was honored in the category of Motion Picture by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023. His star will be located at 6201 Hollywood Blvd. Michael B. Jordan is the recipient of the 2,751st star.

Ray Liotta

Best known for, well, anything he was ever in, Ray Liotta posthumously received his Walk of Fame star on February 24th, 2023. Ray Liotta was born in Newark and was adopted at the age of six months by township clerk Mary and auto-parts store owner Alfred Liotta. With the 2,749th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures, Ray Liotta’s star was accepted on his behalf by his daughter Karsen Liotta. This Goodfella’s star will be located at 6201 Hollywood Blvd.

Ice-T

Ice-T was honored with the 2,747th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, February 17th. Also from Newark, this rap and hip-hop legend was born Tracy Marrow before moving to LA. His star is located at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard and, though we love him in Law + Order: SVU, Ice-T is recognized in the category of Recording.

And lastly, our hometown heroes – The Jonas Brothers – were honored with the 2,745th on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Their ceremony took place on Monday, January 30th in the category of recording. The JoBros were born in Wycoff but moved to Little Falls where they made their first record. Then, it was off to the Disney Channel and the rest is history. Their star is located at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard.
