A Passaic native, Stefania Perez frequently visited Montclair with her family over the years. “Some of my favorite memories as a child were when we would come to Montclair to eat, especially when we would go to Applegate Farms for ice cream. I’ve always had a love for this town. I love the sense of community, diversity, and rich culture. When people think of high quality they think of Montclair. That is why I knew I had to open my business herein 2018,” she told Montclair Girl.
Stefania is the founder and owner of Feminik Beauty located 22 S Fullerton Avenue that specializes in semi-permanent services like microblading, nano brows, and ombre brows. Read on for a Q + A with Stefania where she discusses her inspiration for opening the studio, what to expect when visiting, and her favorite local spot.
Montclair Girl: How did you get into the Beauty industry?
Stefania P: I got into the Beauty Industry after having worked in Accounting and Finance and
realizing I did not have the passion for that field. I wanted to find a new career in something that
I would enjoy. I knew I loved beauty but I also wanted to help people. I wanted to find a career
that would encompass both of my passions. After months of researching, I came across
microblading. It came almost like an epiphany. I knew that this was something I would be willing
to give up my stable corporate job for. I felt like it was my calling. I quit my job after seven
years, took the plunge, and never looked back.
MG: Who is your biggest source of inspiration?
SP: I always look up to any and all female entrepreneurs, career women, moms. One
particular role model that comes to mind is local Beauty Entrepreneur Bobbi Brown. Knowing
how she started her career as a makeup artist then became one of the biggest makeup moguls in
the world is a big motivation for me to continue to grow my brand.
MG: Tell us about the services you offer.
SP: I currently offer services such as microblading/nano brows, and ombre brows. Both are
semi-permanent cosmetic tattoos for the eyebrows. Whether someone has thin brows, thick
brows, or no brows I can create the perfect shape and style to complement each person. I have an
online permanent makeup supply shop that I sell to PMU artists throughout the country. I also
teach classes for microblading/nano brows and ombre brows. This is great for anyone looking
to start a new career in this fascinating industry.

MG: What is your most popular service and why?
SP: I can honestly say all of the services I provide are equally popular. This industry is
really growing and the demand for not only the service but to learn the techniques is truly
remarkable. I get clients and students from around the country that come to get their services
done by me or for me to teach them my techniques. Every client is unique and I am able to give
them exactly what they want and need to enhance their beauty. The students I work with really
flourish and start their own beauty businesses after taking my course.
MG: What are your goals for this year in regard to the business?
SP: My goals for this year are to expand and add new technicians so we can service more
clients. I am also going to begin teaching state licensing classes for the American Academy of
Micropigmentation as well as adding more dates for the current classes I teach. I would like to
add online classes as well.
MG: What has been the highlight in your career/life so far?
SP: Starting this career was already the highlight of my life, but having it become highly
successful and even expanding my business and creating a state-of-the-art training facility even in
the midst of a pandemic has truly been a blessing. I am even more excited about what’s next.
MG: What’s a typical day look like for you?
SP: A typical day for me starts with coffee! Nothing gets done if I don’t have a good cup of
coffee from one of my favorite local coffee shops. When I get into work I set up for my clients. I
normally see about 3-4 clients a day. I am usually with each client for about 3 to 3/12 hours.
Once I finish work and clean up for the day I head over to Dr. Eshanov’s office for a chiropractic
adjustment. On weekends I teach classes which last all day. I love working with clients and also
teaching students. Both are fun and exciting and make my long days more enjoyable.

SP: I love to try different restaurants throughout Essex County.

SP: I love walking around Church St. and eating at all the outdoor restaurants and cafes.
