April 21 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Did you know that hundreds of years before DaVinci or Galileo, scientists and scholars of the Muslim world created flying machines, did advanced research on optics and explored perspective, compiled accurate sky charts for all the major cities of the world, developed navigational equipment like the astrolabe and sextant, explored advanced mathematics and algebra, did advanced medical surgeries and research, created highly accurate moving clocks, and more? Central to this Golden Age of Islamic Science was the House of Wisdom in Baghdad. Was it a real place? A myth? Both? Find out more about this age and the people who were the first representatives of the global Renaissance on April 21st from 10:30AM to 12PM at the Montclair Public Library, located at 50 South Fullerton Avenue.
