Local nonprofit organization The Latinos of Montclair will host its Día de los Muertos Community Festival + Celebration from Friday, October 31st to Sunday, November 2nd at 294 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair’s Lackawanna Plaza. The three-day celebration will feature a community altar, concert, night market, and more. About the Event
The Día de los Muertos Community Festival + Celebration will take place at the newly renovated Lackawanna Plaza from October 31st to November 2nd, 2025. Patrons can expect Latino vendors, performances, curated ticketed experiences, and New Jersey’s largest community altar. You can buy tickets for curated events here.

There will be 21+ parties and night Markets on Friday and Saturday night. Sunday will be Family Fun Day and is free for children. The community altar will be open everyday to the public and is free to visit.
Proceeds of the Día de los Muertos Community Festival + Celebration will go to NJ Alliance for Immigrant Justice, The Latinos of Montclair’s youth cultural program Ritmo Jardín, and NJ Latino cultural programming.
Schedule of Events
Friday, October 31st
The Community Altar will be open to the public from 11AM-5PM. And patrons can purchase tickets to the 21+ Halloween Party + Night Market here. The Halloween Party takes place from 8PM-12AM. Expect music, dancing, food + drink vendors, and more.
Saturday, November 1st
The Community Altar will be open to the public from 11AM-5PM. Patrons can purchase tickets to the 21+ Catrina Candlelight Concert, Dance Party + Night Market which will take place from 7PM-12AM. Expect the NJ Symphony String Quartet, mariachi, a DJ dance floor, and more. You can purchase tickets here.
Sunday, November 2nd
The Community Altar will be open to the public from 11AM-3PM. All children can enter for free at The Colores de Frida Theater Production + Family Market which will take place from 1PM-2PM. Adults can purchase tickets here. Expect a bilingual performance inspired by Frida Kahlo’s art and story.
