787 Coffee is a Puerto Rican coffee brand that has been opening shops on the East Coast and in Texas in recent years. Its most recent addition opened in Montclair at 706 Bloomfield Avenue. The space was previously occupied by hamburger restaurant Hamburguesa. Read on to learn more about the new coffee spot.
‘From Farm to Cup’
787 Coffee Co. has entered the mix of businesses on Bloomfield Avenue, located next to Toast. 787 Coffee Co. has other East Coast locations in Westfield, New Jersey, and 16 Manhattan locations. The coffee shop also has locations in Brooklyn and the Bronx. According to its website, the coffee company was originally born in Puerto Rico, where it owns a coffee farm. While the vast majority of the company’s coffee is grown at its Puerto Rico farm, some specialty coffees are made in collaboration with local farmers in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Colombia.
The business started in 2014, growing coffee at its farm, Hacienda Iluminada. The brand has also shared its commitments to supporting local farmers and the “highest standards of quality and sustainability.” The menu includes a variety of espressos, lattes, teas, and cold brews. Some of its most distinct offerings include whiskey and rum-infused espresso and seasonal mint-infused cold brew. View the entire menu here.
