Beloved Bath Debuts in Maplewood With Mission to Employ + Support People With Autism

Located at 220 Rutgers Street is Beloved Baths – a new boutique that specializes in candle and bath products. More importantly, it was founded by two local mothers, Pam and Pat, who met in a park with their sons. Their sons were later diagnosed with Autism just months apart. Inspired by what salt and lavender baths did for their sons, the duo began creating their own products some years ago and now have built their business into a storefront in Maplewood with a mission to hire and support people with Autism. “We were keenly aware that employment opportunities for adults with autism were scarce. If we wanted our emerging adults to have meaningful jobs, we needed to start something for them. We soon realized that we could amplify our impact and create a company with the mission of meaningful employment for people with autism,” says Pam and Pat via the website.

The moms and business owners have partnered with school-based vocational programs. They also donate a portion of each sale to non-profits that provide vocational training for people with autism.

Beloved Bath does not use animal products and partners with other businesses with the same values. The oils are plant-based and farmed by sustainable growers. All of the fragrances and essential oils are phthalate-free.
