This metaphysical shop in Cranford carries a wide range of bath + body products, including body butters, soaps, essential oils, and, the real highlight of this spot, handmade bath bombs. Outshining even Lush, Witch Baby sells bath bombs in scents like Blood + Milk, Wine + Tarot, Green Witch, and Midnight Aura. MG recommends running a bath, lighting some incense, adding one of these to the tub, and watching the magic happen (pun intended).

Candles from Houss Freya Apothecary | 205 Glenridge Avenue, Montclair

Founded in 2021, Maison Markosian is a clothing brand dedicated to making “creative clothing for creative people,” per its website. Founded by fashion designer Kyra Markosian, the brand’s pieces are made using hand-painted dye techniques and deadstock fabrics. In the United States, Kyra’s work is available at just two boutiques: Pipe + Row in Seattle, WA, and Montclair’s own Monty.

Along with its wide array of products, this shop is known for its soap-making events called Sip + Soap, a fun and creative experience where guests can create custom-scented soaps while enjoying a glass of wine. No experience is required to attend this event, just good vibes and creativity.
Origami Earrings from The Eclectic Chic Boutique | 547 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair
The Eclectic Chic Boutique is a novelty shop run by Montclair local Kristen Zachares. All of the shop’s products are curated by Kristen and made by local creators. At The Eclectic Chic Boutique, shoppers can find handmade, locally sourced, and upcycled goods like clothing, knick-knacks, jewelry, and more. At our last visit, the MG team stumbled across origami crane earrings made by a local artist. The shop sells this wearable art in different colors and patterns.
Paper + Apothecary Goods from Parcel | 11 Park Street 2nd Floor, Montclair
Parcel is celebrated locally for its unique collection of in-house designed greeting cards, printed + foil-pressed stationery, and wrapping papers, each handcrafted by a team of three people. Its foil-pressed cards are all hand-stamped using gold foil, featuring images from its antique archives or custom-made metal plates. Parcel also features a small collection of handmade garlands and paper chandeliers, all inspired by vintage designs.
Parcel’s services include custom invitations, specialty gift wrapping, stationery, gift personalization, and event decor. Committed to honoring traditional paper crafts and lost arts, Parcel also carries a line of handcrafted apothecary products, including candles, soaps, and balms.
Tie Dye Clothing Pieces from Salt Air{e} Collective | 7 South Fullerton Avenue, Montclair

Local boutique Salt Air{e} Collective is known for its curated mix of new and vintage clothing items and home decor. Its tie-dyed pieces, the true treasure of this shop, are each a rare find. Reminiscent of a seashell you may find at the beach, no two are ever alike. During our last visit, MG sat down with owner Jennifer Caramma, who shared the inspiration behind her hand-dyed products. “At Salt Air{e}, we believe that beauty is in the imperfections; it is through this lens that we create and curate for everyday life,” Jennifer said.

Tote Bags from Boomerang Bags at Montclair Creative Reuse Project | 53 Church Street, Montclair
Montclair local Claire Cohen of the Montclair Creative Reuse Project is the creator behind this reusable bag. Boomerang Bags is “a community-driven initiative tackling plastic pollution at the grassroots level,” according to its website. These bags come in all sorts of fabrics and patterns, as they’re made with repurposed fabric, and can be found in-store at the Montclair Creative Reuse Project, located inside Culture Couture at 53 Church Street, Montclair.
