While late-morning brunch seems to be popular, there are other creative options to celebrate Mother’s Day alone or with loved ones. Whether it’s been a busy year or that special someone just wants a day to themselves, this list has a “me time” day covered and options for tagging along, too. Mom’s Night Out In Jersey City | 135 Newark Avenue, Jersey City
Hosted by JC Families + Jersey City Moms, this Mother’s Day celebration will be held at Porta in Jersey City from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Thursday, May 7th. Guests can enjoy the sunset while enjoying music, cocktails, raffles, and more. There will also be a photo booth. Tickets are $25, and registration can be found here.
Mother’s Day Extravaganza | 1 Pal Drive, Wayne
This Mother’s Day celebration, held on Saturday, May 2nd at 10:00 AM, is a great opportunity for Mother’s Day gift shopping. Plenty of local vendors will be present, and there will be family-friendly activities, face painting, matching bracelets, and more.
Sunday Morning Fitness Hike at Schiff Nature Preserve | 239 Pleasant Valley Road, Mendham
Hiking lovers can find access to a Sunday Morning Fitness hike on Sunday, May 10th at 9:00 AM at the Schiff Nature Preserve. This hike will cover five miles of varied terrain. The hike is intended for adults only, but small children may be accompanied in backpacks. It is free for members of the preserve, and $10 for nonmembers. Leashed dogs are also welcome.

The Eclectic Chic Boutique, known for its handmade goods and crafty classes, will host a Mother’s Day Jewelry Making Party on May 10th from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Glassworks Crafting Studio is a creative space with glass decor for all occasions. Mother’s Day, Mom & Me Sourdough Workshop | 700 Lawlins Road, Wyckoff
Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff is hosting a sourdough workshop for Mother’s Day on Wednesday, May 6th, at 4:30 PM. Instruction will be guided and easy to follow, so it is recommended for participants of all experience levels. Each child will receive a commemorative apron to wear + take home, and all guests will be provided with a sourdough equipment package to take home after the event.
