After a long, cold winter, it’s time for New Jersey to finally get outside and enjoy some better weather ahead. Grabbing a drink with friends on a rooftop is a quintessential part of spring and summer, and there are many bars throughout Northern New Jersey ready to welcome you. Read on for a list of rooftop bars in North Jersey where you can enjoy a cold drink and some great views.

Alto at The MC Hotel | 690 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair

As Montclair’s only rooftop bar, Alto is an upscale dining and drinking experience. Its 3000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space make it great for any weather or season. Diners can take in its views with a glass of wine, a mule, or a paloma in-hand alongside some light fare.

The Bradford | 600 Somerset Corporate Boulevard, Bridgewater

The Bradford is an upscale rooftop lounge in Bridgewater. It offers signature-crafted cocktails and stellar views. Diners can watch the sunset while sharing a plate of sliders — there’s also brunch seating to start the day off right. There’s even a S’mores Old Fashioned drink for those in the mood for something sweet.

City Bistro | 56 14th Street, Hoboken

City Bistro has been a Hoboken staple since 1999. It’s a 3-floor restaurant/bar with a beautiful rooftop bar atop and a relaxed atmosphere. The eclectic menu includes Italian-American favorites and seasonal cocktails. Drinks range from sweet to summery to spicy — and there’s even a frozen cocktail section.

Five Dimes Brewery | 247 Westwood Avenue, Westwood

In 2022, Five Dimes Brewery opened in the old 5 + 10 Cent Store in Westwood. Offering craft beers by bottle and by tap, the brewery is a haven for beer enthusiasts. Five Dimes does not offer food at this time.

Little Tijuana boasts a colorful atmosphere and party vibe. With sombreros and floral arrangements hanging from the ceilings and stunning murals outside on the roof, it is sure to brighten up your day or evening. Little Tijuana is a margarita bar and Mexican restaurant — so it’s the spot to go for some flavor. The drink menu has the classics — a margarita, mojito, mule, and even frozen cocktails, to name a few.

Located inside the Envue Hotel, NoHu is a scenic rooftop bar with great views of the city. It’s a great spot to unwind with friends while taking in the stunning scenery and sipping on a craft cocktail. Its food menu has something for everyone and is best enjoyed while gazing out high above the Hudson.

Come for the burger and stay for its open-air experience. With a variety of seasonally-inspired cocktails, there are many fun drink options here. It even has house-infused blueberry and pineapple Tito’s.

TOWN Bar + Kitchen in Morristown is a contemporary American restaurant/bar. Its outdoor area has a wood-burning fireplace and a modern, industrial feel. TOWN is a great spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner and a great cocktail.
