ICYMI, Tom Holland is a 25-year-old English actor whose career shot into superstardom after he landed the much-adored role of Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe. His debut as the NYC-based superhero was in the Captain America: Civil War film back in 2016 – the rest was history. His charming portrayal of Peter Parker won over the hearts of fans and a year later, he solidified a solo film for his character, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Of course, Tom has starred in or played roles in several films before, after, and in between his Marvel movies. These include his starring role in Cherry which debuted in 2019 on Apple TV+ and his latest movie Uncharted that hit theaters four days ago and has made its debut as the #1 movie in the world. This brings us to his seemingly serendipitous visit to The Village at SOPAC (the movie theater housed within SOPAC) over President’s Day weekend.

Though it was quite an exciting surprise for locals to hear of his visit, it was planned as part of his press tour to attend a screening of Uncharted at The Village at SOPAC. The movie is a film adaptation of the popular video game which was inspired by the likes of characters similar to Indiana Jones. Tom’s character goes on an epic adventure to pursue historical mysteries alongside characters played by Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Bryan Cranston, and more recognizable Hollywood faces.

Cinema Lab (the company that runs The Village theater) posted a video of Tom at the theater with the director of the film, Ruben Fleischer, NJ.com reported. The two took to the stage to talk about the film and what it felt like to be the most-watched movie in the world right now. Always kind to fans, Tom gave out autographs and took photos with those in attendance.

“We made this against all of the odds. We were the first film up and running during the pandemic and it was a real uphill battle but we did it, we put our heart and soul into it, and we’re both incredibly proud of the final product,” Tom said while standing next to the director.

Uncharted is currently playing in theaters around the world.
