Tino’s Artisan Pizza Co. Opening New Location in Upper Montclair

Tino’s Artisan Pizza Co. is expanding and will be opening a new location in Upper Montclair. There are already four other locations in New Jersey: Jersey City, Kingston, Madison, and Ocean Grove. Following JC’s opening earlier this year, the new spot is expected to open in just a few months. Read on to learn more about Tino’s Artisan Pizza Co. coming to Montclair.

Taking Over Montclair

The owner of the business, Tino Procaccini, tells Montclair Girl that he has been “eyeing” Montclair “for a while now,” but the scouting of the location didn’t come so fast.

“As we did our due diligence and went up and down Bloomfield Ave, I wasn’t convinced that [that] was the perfect fit for us. As we began to drive the outskirts of Bloomfield Ave, we came across the little town of Upper Montclair and just fell in love with this little pocket of Montclair,” Tino says.

The restaurant’s new location will be at 250 Bellevue Avenue in Upper Montclair. It’s located in a multi-unit building and is right next to the Italian bakery and café, Mattarello. Montclair Girl has learned that the interior will be similar to the other locations, with warm earthy colors with barn wood and vintage lighting.

Tino previously told Hoboken Girl, “We pick historical neighborhood towns [for the locations] because as we attempt to grow, we want to serve neighborhood families and not just those in transit.”

The team is hoping to acquire a local wine license from Hopewell Valley Vineyards, which is something already in place at the Jersey City location, at 199 Warren Street. The owner says, “It’s actually a big hit for those that either forget to bring a bottle (since it’s BYOB) or just want to support local [businesses].”

What Tino’s Fans Can Expect

Montclair Girl is told that the new space will be the “same concept” and “same everything.” Tino’s Artisan Pizza was founded in 1999 with a mission to bring “the most delicious home-style food with fresh, organic ingredients and the time-honored method of terra cotta oven cooking.”

To ensure high-quality ingredients, Tino’s has partnered with various businesses across the country including Hudson Bread in North Bergen, NJ, Shore Seafood in Saxis, VA, Cannoli Factory in Long Island, NY, and N’duja Artisans in Chicago, IL.

The menu will be similar to the other locations across the Garden State. Straight from the terra cotta oven, some pies the pizzeria will serve include the Silician Tomato Pie; Parm Pie; Tartufo, made with sausage, cremini mushrooms, and white truffle oil; Roman zucchini; and Raffaella, which is made with roasted garlic, hot pepperoncino paste, shaved parm, and parsley. 

There are five different crust options: regular, sourdough, gluten-free, cauliflower, and focaccia. And, the founder mentions, the artisanal pizzas “take 90 seconds to bake!”

Other menu options include Eggplant Rollatini, Truffled Honey and Goat Cheese Bruschetta, Octopus, and Mamma’s Meatballs. There are also various salads, cold and hot sandwiches, and pasta dishes to choose fromLastly, Tino’s offers some traditional desserts like the Tiramisu, Cannolo Rollatini (pizza crust, chocolate chip cannoli cream, and strawberries), and various flavors of gelato and sorbet.

Coming Soon to Montclair

Tentatively, Tino’s will be opening in Montclair in January 2022. However, the owner says the company is “hoping for sooner.”

“As we continue to grow, we look forward to bringing our concept to different areas. The most amazing part of it all is having so many connections from one location to the other,” Tino adds. “For example, our Ocean Grove location [has] so many people from the Montclair area [that] were down this summer enjoying the Jersey Shore. They would come and dine with us and tell us that they live in the Montclair area and can’t wait for us to open. This brings me so much joy! [We’re] very excited.”
