Since Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone, that means the unofficial start to summer 2022 is in full swing. New Jersey residents are looking for ways to explore nature, enjoy the weather, and check out local activities, and these next few months are the best time for just that. To add to the fun, Governor Phil Murphy announced on May 26th that all NJ state parks, forests, and recreation areas will be free of charge for the duration of the summer — starting on MDW. If you’re interested in traversing the state’s 453,000 acres included in the State Park System this year, we’ve rounded up all of the sites where you can go. Read on for the list of state parks, forests, and recreation areas in New Jersey that will be free this summer.
