What We Know
The shop will open on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, which originally had an anticipated opening date of late June or early July 2023, but is now set for October 2023, according to its latest press release. The space is near to Chef Felice’s other Montclair restaurant, Pasta Ramen, which opened earlier this year.

The shop plans to offer specialty Italian meats + artisan cheeses on custom-made breads as well as imported pantry goods, cured meats, and cheeses. During the pandemic, while many restaurants were closed, Chef Felice used one of his existing restaurants, Viaggio, as a mini-market and deli, selling pantry goods and sandwiches.

Fatto con Amore will offer the traditional vibes of the kind of salumeria (delicatessen) that Chef Felice dreamt of opening since he was a child, and that the Montclair community needs. Sandwiches will be made with a passion for quality starting with the ingredients; from its freshly baked breads from finest local bakeries and imported meats, to its artisanal cheeses, vinegars and olive oils from Italy.
The shop will open at 7AM daily for quick grab-and-go breakfast offerings, and will serve Italian breakfast delights such as a Prosciutto Egg + Cheese Panino — with crispy prosciutto, scrambled egg, cheddar, black pepper, and a roll; Focaccia Benedict Cacio e Pepe — hash browns, parmigiano, cacio e pepe hollandaise; and a Pepperoni Egg + Cheese — Ezzo pepperoni, fried egg, cheddar, romesco sauce, Semolina bread. A variety of select local and imported products will also be available for purchase.

The team settled in Montclair for a three-month stint in Montclair at The Clubhouse. “It felt really good,” Chef Robbie said. “It was the middle of the pandemic so we still had only a small group of diners, but it felt great to be able to do something creative and keep people employed.”
Pasta Ramen is located at 6 South Fullerton Avenue and is open for dinner seven days a week. It is a BYOB. “Coming back to Montclair is huge for us,” Chef Robbie said. “There’s no other town I’d want to do this in. Montclair is the perfect place to bring a non-traditional concept. Montclair is its own restaurant capital and it’s super different.”
