Commonwealth Garden Apartments | 480 Valley Road 

These townhouses situated in a park-like setting allow both dogs and cats. There is a two pet per household limit and a one-time fee of $250 for one animal or $750 for two animals. Monthly pet rent is $25 for cats and $50 for dogs, and cats cannot exceed 25 pounds, while dogs cannot exceed 40 pounds.

Montclair Gardens | 39 N Fullerton Avenue

Montclair Gardens is a historic building with studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments.   The building offers a laundry center and modern interior finishings. Both cats and dogs are welcome at Montclair Gardens, where the management believes in the importance and benefits of having pets in the home.

This dog and cat-friendly complex is close to a New Jersey Transit station, Bay Street station, and the amenities are meant to appeal to human and animal tenants alike. They include a barbecue and fire pit lounge, a business center, a club room, a swimming pool, a gym, and most importantly, a dog park. Up to two pets are allowed per unit, though some breed restrictions apply. Pet rent for cats is $20 a month and $30 a month for dogs.  

Montclarion at Bay Street Station | 125 Bloomfield Avenue 

Luxury apartments are the name of the game at Montclarion, which is a LEED-certified green building complete with a rooftop patio. The gated building has a pet policy that allows both dogs and cats, but weight and breed restrictions apply. Dogs must not exceed 40 pounds at full maturity, and one pet per household is allowed. There is a non-refundable deposit of $500, and pet rent is $50 a month.

Valley and Bloom | 34 Valley Road

Built in 2015, Valley and Bloom is a gold LEED-certified building with a spin and yoga studio as well as a children’s playroom and a cafe. The pet-friendly space also has a roof terrace, giving pets the complete experience and tons of room to play. There is a two pet per apartment limit, though, and dogs cannot exceed 65 pounds.

The Vestry | 147 Bloomfield Avenue

This residential collection offers studio, one- and two-bedroom options, and amenities include a rooftop terrace, an outdoor kitchen, and a residents lounge. The residences are both dog and cat friendly, and the entire community is surrounded by green space that is perfect for a pet.

This newly-completed building offers open floor plans and community amenities like a fireplace study, a fitness center, and a roof deck. The space is both dog and cat-friendly. There is currently a waitlist in order to move in, with length varying on the desired move-in date.
