It seems like every time we stroll through the streets of Montclair, signage is up for a new ice cream spot, wellness space, or pizza joint. It can be hard to keep track, so we’ve put together a list of new + upcoming businesses that have emerged in Montclair in 2026 so far. From two new Italian restaurants to two fresh ice cream spots and more, locals and visitors will have no shortage of places to explore this season. Read on for a growing list of 15 new businesses that have been announced or opened in 2026.

Brick + Dough Slice Window | 110 Walnut Street

3rd-joint-slice-shopBrick + Dough, located on 110 Walnut Street in Montclair, officially launched its Slice Window on April 8th, 2026, letting customers grab thin, crispy slices of its daily specials + staples without ordering a whole pie. The window operates during regular business hours, and prompts customers to “ring the bell for assistance,” making it easy for commuters and locals alike to stop by for a quick slice. A plain slice costs $3, while a pepperoni or white slice costs $4. Add-ons such as stracciatella + fresh basil can top off your slice for an extra dollar.

Campofiore | 664 Bloomfield Avenue

Campofiore, a new rustic farm-to-table Italian restaurant, is located inside the MC Hotel in Montclair and is part of Stout NYC Hospitality Group, adding to its portfolio of nearly 20 owner-operated bars and restaurants across New York and New Jersey. Its dishes are inspired by Italy’s regions and made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The interior blends earthy tones with lush greenery and cozy lighting and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Our personal favorite dish was the Mafaldine Cacio e Pepe—a buttery, creamy pasta that was light yet indulgent. Read more about this spot here.

Clementina | 627 Valley Road

While this spot hasn’t opened quite yet, another Italian restaurant will be joining the Montclair foodie scene this May (date TBA). It will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 5PM – 10PM, Friday and Saturday from 5PM – 11PM, and Sundays from 4PM – 10PM. Its cuisine is inspired by the Adriatic Coast and is led by Italian-born Chef + Partner Michele Rocchi. Guests can look forward to menu items like Tuna Tataki, Grilled Sea Bass Fillet, and Tiramisù. Dawn Til Dusk | 209 Glenridge Avenue

Dawn Til Dusk Cosmetics, a new makeup studio led by professional makeup artist and educator Dawn Maloney, opened its doors at 209 Glenridge Avenue in early April. The woman-owned brand teaches the makeup industry’s only patent-pending technique in the United States, known as “The Anatomical Makeup Method™,” which defines 50 face shapes, 36 lip combinations, and 32 eye combinations, totaling 57,000 ways to approach makeup. Dawn has owned several North Jersey-based studios before relocating to Montclair, and the studio focuses on makeup education, professional services, and its cosmetics line, Dawn Til Dusk Cosmetics. Farmhouse Fried Chicken, an elevated fried chicken concept, first announced plans to take over the former DaVinci’s Brick Oven Pizza space at 223 Bellevue Avenue in November, which occupied the location for over 25 years. The team behind Dan + Day’s, located at 598 Valley Road in Montclair, will take on their second business venture focused on farmhouse-style fried chicken.

While the opening date is still TBD, the team just announced it will be bringing a preview to Dan & Day’s with its Farmhouse Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich featuring crispy fried chicken breast, creamy coleslaw, pickles, and Mike’s Hot Honey on a Martin’s Potato Roll. The team shared, “We’re getting close, we promise. In the meantime, come grab one before we sell out!” See more about this new spot here.

Gulf Gas Station Convenience | 120 Watchung Avenue 

Gulf Gas Station Convenience Store

The Gulf gas station at 120 Watchung Avenue in Montclair, near Watchung Plaza, received approval in April 2026 to add a convenience store to the corner property, replacing the existing auto repair shop, according to Montclair Local. The project was approved by the township’s Zoning Board and will include updates like new pedestrian walkways, bike racks, lighting, and landscaping, despite some community concerns about traffic at the busy intersection.

Insomnia Cookies | 332 Bloomfield Avenue

Insomnia Cookies, a go-to spot for late-night sweet tooth cravings, expanded to Montclair on April 11th, 2026, at 332 Bloomfield Avenue. The shop is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11AM – 1AM and Thursday through Saturday from 11AM – 3AM. It caters to all late-night treat cravers, especially to Montclair State University students, staying true to the brand’s roots, which began in 2003 when a college student set out to fill the gap for late-night dessert spots and cookie delivery.

Ju-Ichi Japanese Restaurant | 512 Bloomfield Avenue

Signage for Morristown native Ju-Ichi Japanese Restaurant was spotted in April at 512 Bloomfield Avenue, with the upcoming concept blending traditional Japanese dishes with innovative, chef-driven techniques. Its focus is on bold, fresh flavors, with each dish prepared using high-quality ingredients. The opening date is still TBA. More on this new restaurant here.

Middle Child Kids Consignment | 42 Fairfield Street

Middle Child Kids Consignment opened its new storefront at 42 Fairfield Street in Montclair on May 7th, offering gently used kids’ clothing and gifts. Founded by Montclair resident Lacey Triplett Thistle, the shop began online in early 2025 and grew through local pop-ups before moving into a brick-and-mortar space. Much of its inventory comes from local families, with strong community support driving its expansion.

OddFellows Ice Cream Co | 450 Bloomfield Avenue

Opening this May, OddFellows Ice Cream Co. is located next to Tous Les Jours bakery on the Church Street corner of Bloomfield Avenue. The NYC-based, viral ice cream shop is expanding into New Jersey, with another location also slated to open in Hoboken soon. Known for its small-batch approach and creative flavors, OddFellows has been scooping since its first Brooklyn shop opened in 2013 and has created more than 500 flavors. Oggi Gelato | 40 Church Street

Signage was spotted in April 2026 for Oggi Gelato, an Italian gelateria taking over the former Oasis clothing boutique space at 40 Church Street, which closed in December 2025 after 20 years in business. Founded by Carmelo Chiaramida and brought to the United States by Maurizio and Graziano Ricci of the Romanacci restaurant group, the brand serves traditional artisanal gelato made with high-quality ingredients and no preservatives or artificial additives. Montclair will mark its first New Jersey location and first U.S. site outside Connecticut, joining existing shops in Norwalk and Fairfield with another opening soon in Trumbull. Pilates Addiction | 638 Bloomfield Avenue

Joining the fitness scene along Bloomfield Avenue, Pilates Addiction brings a focus on precise, personalized workouts, with additional locations in Wayne and Short Hills. After taking a class, we found the instructors knowledgeable and approachable, especially for beginners, and the space itself felt relaxing, with a dimly lit room, color-changing LEDs, and upbeat music that makes for a focused but energizing start to the day. The DRIP Fitness Studio | 6 Gates Avenue

A Hoboken fitness favorite, The DRIP Fitness Studio has teased its fifth location in Montclair over the past couple of months, aiming to open its doors this May at 6 Gates Avenue. The brand was founded by longtime fitness instructors Olivia Bernardo LaCaruba and Samantha Gree during COVID-19 while they were living in Hoboken. 3rd Joint Slice Shop + Bakery | 98 Walnut Street

3rd Joint, a slice shop and bakery, opened on April 20th, 2026 at 98 Walnut Street in Montclair. Named for owner Beverly Lacsina’s third business venture, it also became the third pizza spot on Walnut Street alongside Brick + Dough and Panzano’s. The menu features classic pies, as well as fresh salads, wings, sandwiches, garlic knots, and more delicacies. 

Toastique | 25 Church Street

Fast-casual spot Toastique is opening later this spring at 25 Church Street. This DC-based franchise specializes in toasts loaded high with fresh vegetables, house-made spreads, and more. There are also salads, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices.
