Dachshund owners in Montclair now have a place where their furry friends can meet fellow weenies and maybe even make a friend or two themselves. Montclair Weenie Meetup, a club launched in April, has been hosting regular dachshund meetups ever since. Read on to learn more about the Montclair Weenie Meetup Club in Montclair, NJ.
About Montclair Weenie Meetup
Rachel Lazarovitch started Montclair Weenie Meetup in April 2026, launching an Instagram account to build community interest and connect local dachshund owners ahead of upcoming events.

So far, the group has hosted one meetup at Brookdale Park, with another scheduled for June 14th at 3PM. The club welcomes dachshunds and their owners from Montclair and neighboring towns. Free treats are provided by L&B Healthy Pet Markets, @lbhealthypetmarket on Instagram.
At the meetups, dachshunds are free to run around and play together while owners connect with fellow dog lovers. The club also hosts a weekly “Weenie Wednesday” feature on Instagram, highlighting community members’ dogs and sharing some of their favorite things in the caption.
Rachel’s own dachshund, Blueberry Lazarovitch, loves long walks on the beach, kisses, and dressing up for night out in town.

Rachel told MG that they are currently in talks with Just Jake’s bar in Montclair for a July happy hour event after the World Cup.

“After bringing Blueberry home, we noticed how many other dachshunds were in the area who were looking for fellow friends to play with so we wanted to build a community for everyone to have the chance to meet and hang out with other doxies,” Rachel said.
