Coping with a miscarriage is a tragic life experience. It’s a life-changing event that can feel isolating. But, people don’t have to go through such trauma alone. There are several reading materials, including Hope for Healing: A Guide to Depression After Pregnancy and Infant Loss, (which is available in English and Spanish), and groups and services are available in New Jersey for people suffering such a loss. Here are resources in New Jersey available for those dealing with a miscarriage.

A Healing Time  

Meeting on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00PM, A Healing Time hosts a virtual support group for pregnancy interruption. To RSVP and attend the virtual group, contact Kathy Donaldson at [email protected]. Donaldson can also be reached by phone at (732) 937-5437 ext. 179.

Perinatal and Infant Loss Virtual Support Group

This virtual group meets on the third Thursday of every month from 6:00PM to 7:00PM. The online group is organized by ​​Vu-An Foster, Founder of Life After 2 Losses, and Andrea Booker, RN, Fetal Infant Mortality Review Program Manager at the Partnership. It aims to offer information and resources for parents who have experienced a loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or sudden unexplained infant loss. The group is free of charge and available to families across northern New Jersey.

Pockets of Light

This Montclair-based foundation offers a weekly, drop-in perinatal loss group. Couples are encouraged to attend this weekly group together, and those interested can get information by contacting the foundation directly. It also offers individual, one-on-one peer support for those not willing to discuss in a group.

Remembering Our Babies | 205 Pheasant Hollow Drive, Plainsboro

This organization was created to provide support and awareness for those who have suffered a pregnancy-related loss. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is October 15, and this group offers an array of events, activities, and resources for every state. Riverview Share Group

This group meets at the Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30PM in the center’s Jane Brooker Conference Center. SIDS Center of New Jersey | 1 Robert Wood Johnson Place, New Brunswick

St. Peter’s University Hospital New Brunswick | 254 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick New Jersey   

St. Peter’s University Hospital’s share group meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00PM. It’s located in the employee cafeteria conference room and has been around since October 2015. To join the group, contact Irina Mariano-Brown at 732-745-8600 extension 5214, or [email protected].

TEARS Center for Pregnancy & Infant Loss | 111 West Broad Street, Palmyra
