Parking Permits
Permits for all commuter lots are wait-listed.
Permits are monthly, with the exception of the High School. All parking spaces marked with “Permit Parking Only” are for permit-only use 24hrs/7 days a week.
All train station parking permits are valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Permit holders are allowed to park overnight in all transit lots without having to purchase an additional overnight permit.
Visitors of Montclair residents who display the single-use parking permit can park in a municipal parking lot marked ”Permit Parking Only” or in front of the resident's home until 8AM the following morning. The permits can be purchased online at a daily rate of $5. See here. The permit no longer needs to be physically displayed as license plates serve as permits.
Parking Utility Policies — Monthly Permit Holder Policies
All invoices are generated by ParkVantage and sent out on the 23rd of each month unless the permit holder is enrolled in Autopay. Physical hangtags are no longer needed as the license plate serves as the permit.
Parking in a facility without moving the vehicle, may not exceed 72 hours unless previously arranged with the MPU or parking management company. Currently, this is Impark, who can be reached at 973-744-6010.
Metered Parking
All parking meter spaces must be paid for when you park your vehicle in a metered spot. All meters accept three types of payment — coins, credit cards, and the ParkMobile app.
