Blues + Brews: Big Frank/Mike Smith at Montclair Brewery

Join us for the next installment of our monthly collab with NJBS: Blues + Brews. One Sunday a month, we collaborate with the North Jersey Blues Society to bring the blues to Montclair. Next up –  Big Frank/Mike Smith!

Big Frank is a traditional electric and acoustic blues musician known for his powerful vocals and bottleneck slide style. He has been a fixture in the NYC Tri-State blues scene for decades. Over the years, Big Frank has opened for such acts as Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Bo Diddley Jr., and Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, to name a few. Big Frank has been inducted into the New York and the New Jersey Blues Halls of Fame.

A fixture on the New York Metro area roots music scene for decades, Mike Smith, with his trusty amplified and acoustic harp, has shared the stage with James Cotton, The Subdues, and others. Alongside Big Frank for the past decade, the duo are well known for their live shows that feature some of the most authentic elements of the American Blues experience.

$10 cover charge per person that goes directly to the artists.

The mission of the North Jersey Blues Society is to celebrate the heritage of blues music through the unity of fans, musicians, society members, venues, and business owners who will collaborate and promote the blues in Northern New Jersey.
